      We switched to Gonzalez.

      Reposado.
It's the founders/makers of Don Julio. The Gonzalez family sold Don Julio to Seagrams in 1999 and the family went and started their label. The daughter is the the Mexican editor on my girlfriend's team and brings back bottles each year from the distillery.
Based the reaction it received at a recent taste test we conducted, it far exceeded some of the Reposados aforementioned.
We no longer imbibe Don Julio or Patron. Patron has become the new Joe Crow and Joe Crow is exactly what it is. Boutique Tequila's are the way to go, IMO.

Seattle now has Ilegal as well, if'n you're into mezcal. Trying to get someone local to carry it, I hate mail order liquor.

Again...poor quality tequila is horrible...that stuff makes me ill.

Great tequila is a whole different animal...the top tequila añejos are the equivalent of fine brandies and cognacs...and you don't shoot it...they are sipping tequilas.

Not all tequilas are created equal...and some are expensive as heck...

...and that's nothing...check this out...$500 a shot...yes...a shot...plus this video tells you the different kinds of tequilas and the differences between them...it's good viewing...

Well...just look at the tequilas you drink...no better than moonshine...that's rocket fuel stuff...

The traditional Jalisco Paloma is tequila, grapefruit soda, and a squeeze of lime.

That's right Hector, tequilas are meant to be sipped slowly in a tequila sipping glass in order to savor the taste. No limes or salts.
