    My favorite tequila?

    Non-drinkers...stay away...lol.

Sauza's Tres Generaciones (3 G's)...I like it better than either el Patrón and Don Julio...

Plata/silver rules, but reposado is great too...my least favorite is añejo...but a lot of folks love it....I find añejo a tad too "woodsy" in flavor.

    This stuff is delicious!

Good stuff Hector! May I also recommend Cabo Wabo. Honestly, it's very good.
Cheers! A holiday toast to you and your family. Merry Christmas my friend.

I'm not really a hard liquor drinker and on the occassion I do have something with tequila it is usually a mixed drink so I'm pretty brand neutral as long as it is something that is really nasty. I don't know if it is the same with tequila but have seen tv shows to determine whether or not hard liquor connisieurs can taste the difference between top shelf and mid line brands...and they couldn't. They probably chose a pretty bland liquor (Vodka) for their experiment but the Grey Goose drinkers generally chose Smirnoff or something less expensive in a blind taste test. I'm sure with Tequila just like Scotch Whiskeys there are many who can taste the difference immediately.

Trust me...even you will tell the difference.

Take a shot of el Patrón for example...then take a shot of Cuervo Gold...you'll see...

Thank you my friend...same to you, buddy.

Yeah...Sammy Haggar's tequila rules too (I think he sold off his shares though)...

Vodka is the most neutral-flavored spirit out there...tequila and whiskey are so different.

Even amongst those Sauza tequila bottles I posted, are all different-tasting.

Plata/silver has the most bite...reposado is smoother...and añejo has the strongest oak taste of the lot (with a touch of vanilla)...since that particular tequila is aged the longest in Kentucky whiskey barrels.

Thank you Hector for the wonderful hazy memories you brought back I used to love tequila once upon a time ago then my pallet shifted to Jack Daniels... on the rocks... no soda in sight. Just that beautiful brown liquid that made the night's so relaxing. I better stop. I almost sound like a pitchman for Mr. Daniels.

If the day ever comes I make it out to the West Coast (or perhaps a Mego Meet) we can all sit around and knock back some shots.

There's another one of those resolutions / goals for the New Year.

Also...the reason people get so sick after drinking Cuervo Gold is because that tequila has sugar added...and that yellow tint you see is artificially colored...it's a cheaply-made tequila designed to sell to the masses...that's why it's by far...the number one tequila sold around the world.

Cuervo does make great tequilas...but Cuervo Gold is their entry-level brand.

Oh man...Jack Daniels...I had my share of that stuff in my younger years...but I don't drink it anymore...too many memories of massive JD hangovers...lol.

                      1800 better than Patrón?

Don't get me wrong...1800 is ok (a lot cheaper priced)...but it's just not as smooth as el Patrón.
