It's raining SO hard here and SO much, my pool just overflowed...

I've got 3 inches of water in my living room. I've been living in CA now for 25 years, and I've never seen this much rain. It's literally insane. Sandbags in the house... Ridiculous. AND my dad just left for Seattle this morning to see my brother and his kids. I'm gonna meet him there in a few days to tell him that our house is flooded. Merry FRACKING Christmas.

Get a Power Pump ..., and Pump that Pool Down After you suck the Water outta your House Dude. We use them all the time in the ground for water, and manholes and Catch Basins . You can Probably rent 1 at like Hertz, or a Construction rental place .

Sorry about the pool, Sandy...too much rain is a problem.

Having said that...I absolutely love the rain...it's the foundation of life...drinking water, trees, greenery, agriculture, heck...I even love the smell of wet dirt after a rain, lol.

You guys don't want it to look like the Sahara desert...do ya?

But yes...excessive rain does create problems...no denying that.

Like Blacknight said...get a power pump...I don't have a pool...but I do have a basement that likes to gather water when it rains too much (our property slopes)...and the power pump has been a savior.

I sympathize Sandy. My 2nd House was only 23" above the Water table. So I had to have a Sump-Pump that ran constantly...except when the power went out(which in the country is a lot)! So I had to have a Generator for those occasions, so my Basement wouldn't flood.

Needless to say...I got fed up and sold that House.

I think what you guys aren't getting, is that in Southern California, the houses don't have basements... I have a LAKE in my LIVING ROOM. Expensive rugs are ruined, furniture, not to mention, the cherrywood floors. When I lived in NY, the basement flooded a few times, but there was a cement floor and nothing of value down there. This situation is COMPLETELY different. The water rushed down towards the house SO hard when the pool overflowed, that it shattered the bottom two panes of my French doors. Yeah, they're coming today to pump out the water, but the damage is done already and it's STILL raining.

                        Blessed? Yeah, I'm blessed alright...
