Unlike the Fonzie Loves Pinky episodes, I hafta say that the Funeral episodes didn't disappoint me as far as what I remembered. Great episodes!Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I agree. I remember everyone talking about this after the explosion where we thought fonzie was dead (at least I did). This time period (1979) is when I was in kindergarten/1st grade so this period is the one I clearly remember watching when it came out. This show was still Huge at this time.
As they keep moving forward with the episodes we can gradually watch its decline as the years rolled on (well in my opinion). Looking back its hard to belive the show lasted as long as it did. I don't remember watching it after alot of the main characters left id say around 81 and on. and I certainly don't remember its final seasons. I had long moved on by that time.
But still the Hub showing these brings back alot of good memories! Im sure it does for most people on this board as well!Comment

Fonzie's Funeral did hold up well. I think the writing was really crisp at this time. The characters were well-defined. Some of the situations were zany, but the characters stayed in character.
The tornado one was fun. The Ralph/Potsie split-room feud was on this week too. That's a good one.
But pretty soon, Arnold's will burn down, and then Ritchie and Ralph leave and that's it for me!

KC, Roger, Flip, Jenny Piccoli, Ashley and the kid....I can do without all of that crap. I do like Fonzie as the shop teacher but when he becomes "Dean of Boys" and Roger is the Principal (I think) the show jumps the shark yet again...
Poor Potsie hardly gets any screen time during those last years and it's only as a doofus walk-on....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I always wondered why they didn't give Potsie SOMETHING to do. I guess Anson Williams was happy to take his check, but he had to get frustrated that he was a high-paid set decoration.
Oh, and I think I know when the show REALLY jumped the shark. Last night they aired the episode about Chachi's Incredo-Wax. Fonzie actually bends a crow-bar into a pair of hand cuffs for the bad guys. Just like Superman would. I know Fonzie is able to make doors open and jukeboxes play with just a knock or a snap, but that pushed it into the realm of insanity right there.

Just had a funny thought
Happy Days was clearly made for kids and teens (but enjoyed by all)
If it was made today many things would change including Fonzie's promiscuously.
Fonzie would have to constantly remind the audience he uses "proper protection"Comment

also agree that early happy days was bestComment

Here's something odd I noticed watching these re-runs on the Hub.
Chachi first appears in 1977. After several episodes with just a name credit, Baio and Al Molinaro get their pics in the record during the end credits. Then they move up to the opening credits.
Then suddenly, Baio is nowhere in sight, and is missing for many, many episodes. He is out of the creits too. Now they are in to 1979 episodes, and he's back.
Did Baio leave to do another series, or movie during this time? And why didn't he stay gone?

When Season 6 began in Sept. '78, Chachi was not seen in any episodes until mid November...And that episode featured him in the closing for some reason.
And his abscence was probably because Baio was working on another of Garry Marshall's shows, "Who's Watching the Kids" which aired from September 22, 1978 through December 15, 1978.
With Season 7, Chachi and Joanie started to get more screen time...leading up to Arnold's burning down (that DAMN apron!)...
And by the end of the season, Richie and Ralph left....paving the way for Season 8....and then the eventual "Joanie Loves Chachi (But Chachi's Not Too Crazy About Her)" spin-off...
