Well, you can blame me for Romo going down, cause I have him for QB on my fantasy team. Last year it was Ronnie Brown, year before that it was Brady. I'm worse than a Madden Video Game cover
I'm sorry, but Romo is the most overrated NFL player in the last ten years. I personally have nothing against him and I can take or leave Dallas, not a fan or hater. I just think Romo is average to below average at best and certainly not a superstar.

So, then according to your logic, Staubach and Aikman must really suck. Romo holds several franchise records, most notably touchdowns and yards in a season. If that's the product of an average to below average quarterback, then the team's past stars must be below average to below below average.
Superstars win Superbowls, not to mention more than the occasional playoff game
Paul makes a good point here, . . . I like Romo and the Cowboys won't be a better team without him . . .
. . but when you examine a pro athletes body of work, . . . the question is . . how does he perform in crunch time, moreover the playoffs? . . . . to date Romo has not shown anything spectacular with any consistancy.
The Cowboys are my team but since day one of this season they have not looked good. Too many mental errors . . . . I mean Jason Wittten drawing procedure penalties? that's ridiculous! I could go on and on with this list but it's pointless.
Kitna is the consumate pro, I hope he does well and I'll be pulling for him. However, if the Bozos around him don't get their act together you could throw the great Johnny U in there and it wouldn't help!

And this is where I will agree with you. The TEAM has not looked good and it's not all Romo's fault. Drop him in the team Aikman had around him and watch the wins pile up. Romo's one major fault in my opinion was spelled out perfectly by Steve Young last night during the pregame. He should take more of a vocal/emotional role in the locker room and LEAD this team to the Superbowl. The only player who has any heart on the team is Dez Bryant and also Ware to a point. Everyone else is just expecting the wins to pile up because of the talent level.

Doesn't Romo Hold More Records and Stats Higher than Aikman on the Team ? What About Passing yrs , or TouchDowns ? ... I think he's the Best QB the Boys Might have had since Staubach ..., It was the Team Itself that Made Aikman .
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
OK, now you guys are getting out of control. Aikman is a HOf QB in both the pros and college! He was one of the most accurate QBs in the game. He was the Superbowl MVP against the Bills after completing 22-of-30 passes for 273 yards and 4 TDs! He was the first Cowboys QB to have 3 straight 3000 yard seasons.
And remember this was before the NFL became so pass happy and the Cowboys had Emmitt Smith running the ball a bunch too. I am a Bears fan (and season ticket holder) but I respect how great of a QB that Troy was. Romo is good but not yet in the league of Aikman.
Plus he often had to get past a pretty good 49rs team and a pretty good Packer team in the playoffs. Just saying...

Hey, don't get me wrong. I am an Aikman fan from a long line of Aikman fans! I still pop in my BETA (yes BETA) tapes from the triplet days and watch games from time to time. And I am not saying that Romo is better than him. All I am saying is that I am sick of hearing he is the most over rated player in the NFL. The dude deserves some credit for his abilities and holding the franchise records that he does, gives him some credibility. People that say he is over rated do not watch the games and see how natural a passer he is. They see the highlights, mostly bad and don't get the whole picture.
Well, if we are going to do comparisons, and since somebody mentioned passing accuracy, I am going to go out on a limb and open myself to ALL kinda laughter and tell you that the most accurate passer for the Dallas franchise and one of the most accurate passers of all time in the entire NFL was...
Drum roll please...
Danny White. That dude could drop a pass right into the receiver's arms on a dead run, pretty as can be. I have several games on tape and a highlight tape from that era and it is some sweet stuff. White actually held several records that even Aikman did not break, but Romo broke all or most of them, including touchdowns in a season.
Aikman was a much better QB IMO and I don't even like the guy.
In reality, their styles are too different to make a comparison. Aikman was more accurate and a better pocket passer, but he had nowhere Romo's ability to extend a busted play. Romo is much more mobile and pretty darn accurate most of the time on the run.
