You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I wasn't "promoting" the song or vid, I was referring to someone's previous
post about the two singers referenced, so I'm not particulaly offended by
how you feel the need to express how you despise it.

I have no idea what you'd be meaning here.

Are you saying Roy Orbison is a joke?

              Not at all.

I'm saying going from Roy Orbison's fine voice to Dylan and Petty's warbling plays out like a joke. (It is sooo extreme in contrast.)

I meant from 43 seconds to the one minute mark and THEN compare that to what immediately follows with the Petty/Dylan duo. My mistake for not stating that I find that transition to be so sharply delineated as to be humorous.

                Nowwwww I get it.

Incidentally I sing in a project where I'm like an Elvis Costello/Lemmy type
paired with a Gwen Stefani/New Wavey chick type.... I love contrast like that.

Did Axl and Petty team up because of that charity album "Nobody's Child"? It's the only connection I can think of between the two.

They teamed up because it was the MTV AWARDS and it's been tradition that at that event, selections from the hottest acts of the moment are
teamed together to perform. The odder, or, at least the more interesting, the better.

I've noticed with most these, they're an acquired taste. You either like them or you don't.

I would have to say my voice without a doubt...

wow, what's with all the hate on Neil Young. I love this guy. Dylan too

now my pick would probably be someone like Rob Zombie who only screams into the mike or maybe Celine Dion who I cannot stand

I'm probably going to get a lot of heat for this one, but I always thought Frank Sinatra was a pretty lousy singer.

Take away his cool persona for second and just listen to him sing .... He's not very good.

                                Same with Sammy Davis ...

                                Dean Martin,
                                Now he sings good
