I can listen to Karen Carpenter all day long, and she can sing me to sleep every night. I never get tired of her voice.

The sweetest voice ever has to go the late great Kirsty MacColl. She may be unknown to most but she sang like an angel.

Alison Krause. Best example of how sweet her voice is...find two covers that she did:

              1) her cover of The Beatles "I Will"
              2) her cover of "Now That I Found You"

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvKtxTsVoMo

Others that I can think of:

              Emmylou Harris
              Dolly Parton
              Ingrid Michaelson
              Jewel
              Susanna Hoffs
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
              The beauty that surrounds them
              Isn't it a pity".

I'll have to click on the Krause links later... but, yeah, forgot about Hoffs...
ETERNAL FLAME is a great example of her sounding sweet as sugar.

Her are a few others...Nancy Wilson, not the one from Heart, an absolutely amazing voice:

I can't believe no has mentioned Mrs. Elvis Costello....Dianna Krall. Not only is she a super talented Piano player...but the voice is just amazing:

Some may recognize this from an episode of Smallville...but she's been around for years...Patty Griffin.

"In These Shoes" is a great song...chock full of Kirsty's humor. I miss her so much.

I'll have to listen to WFUV as no one else plays Kirsty.

I know this is not on most peoples lists here:

Guy - Luther Vandross, Bill Withers, James Taylor
Girl - Anita Baker, Sade, Norah Jones
Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!
