You never grow out of metal. If it's in your blood, it's always gonna be with you.

This is me right before I die:

I go to the Graspop Metal Meeting every year, it's one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe (probaby the world). Unlike some other festivals, where the average age is 16, the average age at Graspop is 40 or something. I see plenty of 40+ and 50+ guys there, so I can definitely say there's no age limit to metal.
I'm 34 and I've been going to concerts and festivals since I was 16 and I have no plans of stopping just yet

I'll be 34 in December...and am a HARD CORE metal fan!!!! As I'm typing this I'm jamming to some "Black Dahlia Murder" (Black Valor to be exact )

I grew up in a fairly tight Christian home....where hard music was frowned upon. I grew up listening to "Christian Metal" AKA Stryper,WhiteCross,Rez band,Tamplin,Holy Soldier, etc. I soon progressed to Dream Theater,Dio, GnR,Megadeth, and etc.

I have seen dozens of concerts...and in fact I have tickets for a show tomorrow----the Rockstar Energy Uproar tour...which features Avenged Sevenfold,Disturbed,Hellyeah,Halestorm,Stone Sour, and etc. I'm a HUGE A7X fan....and I'm as giddy as a 14 year old school boy looking at his first nudie mag to see them

              Hey!
Heavy metal is part of MY generation!
Am I supposed to not like it anymore as I grow white hairs on my beard?
              I dont know.
I guess I'm still wondering what the self-appointed music expert thinks you should be listening to...and on what is the claim based? Nobody who really appreciates music would ever say something like that. It's just not right.

I wonder what else this person doesn't like because s/he's not supposed to. That's a sad and pathetic way to live.

                Hmmmm....

There’s a really good discussion of this on “Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey.” (The scene with the ex Marine current computer guy.)

                >I was at a light last week rocking some Styx in the ol' Town & Country, and I happened to glance over at a 20-something professional looking woman who was looking at me like I was a freak.

Holee Smokes! That was a Simpsons routine!

                  (It's a "SW ROTS" joke)
The SW ROTS line actually goes back to 1st Century Palestine and a guy named Jesus.

Garage Rock? I do have many of the Artists from the 1960's list in my music collection, yes.

But I would say many of their tunes are timeless and can't really be accurately "dated".

As I said before. If you "outgrew" metal..You were never into it in the first place!

Depends on what kind of Metal you're talking about...Death Metal....Don't care for it at all. Nowif you're talking about Metallica, Scorpions, Dokken and those type of Metal bands...then I say bring it on. Little Judas Priest and AC/DC never killed anyone.
