Does anybody remember the show "Trauma Center" from 1983? It starred James Naughton and Lou Ferrigno. Here's the shows opening along with some other great TV shows from 1983 --

I remember Madame's Place. I think it was a syndicated show?
The only Spencer I remember is Spenser for hire.
I think I remember Houndcats. Weren't they like hillbillies?
I looked her up and she quit acting in the 90's and found religion and wrote a book about something with a religious tone.
Is that the same show as Project Bluebook?

After a few of you mentioned it I do remember watching James At 15. Another theme song that is stuck with me over the years. I did watch some of the following seasons James At 16 but for some reason it did not have the same charm anymore and the show died off."Never take a person's dignity: it is worth everything to them, and nothing to you." - Frank BarronComment

I think that shows of this calibre are to cerebral for the typical television viewer. I loved American Gothic! Some of my fave shows that know one seems to remember are dramas. Dolphin's Cove, A Year In The Life, Aaron's Way, Legacy. And a lot of Shaun Cassidy's shows that he created and/or produced (or was a show runner or script advisor):
Over My Dead Body
American Gothic
Cover Me
The Agency
The Mountain
Tarzan
Invasion
"There's someone at the door!"
Another show that died way too early was Maximum Bob.90, Joe 90.... Great Shakes : Milk Chocolate -- Shaken, not Stirred.Comment
