And Benatar's isn't/wasn't? I don't have a problem with that either, but if you're gonna say it about one and not the other (when overall Pat has fewer writing credits) that makes no sense... You can easily say the reason Pat did so well is that her songwriting was by others...

Even HEART had outside compositions... That's mainly where their 80s stuff came from...

This is a funny topic --- "who rocked harder"

The real question is WHO MADE THE MOST MONEY ...

I'd have to give that to Heart and then Pat Benatar ... All the others don't compare.

        ...
I looked over the songwriting credits for Benatar and it appears she has some
credits, but you know who has quite a bit of credits on Benatar songs? Her husband Neil. And, yes, there are other writers too.

The reason why I spoke about Jett having so many covers as hits earlier in
the first place was that I like Jett better than all else mentioned, and
thought I'd "come clean" with the writing credits. Like I said earlier,
I STILL think Benatar's hubby supplied a LOT more material than anyone that
        was DIRECTLY in Jett's camp/band.

Jett seems to have more of the "Hey, I'll cover this song that another band
did....or some completely outside writers put together" thing going on.

Again, not that it matters...but since you brought it up, I thought I'd respond
with my opinion after a quick glance thru Benetar's album writing credits on
        the wiki site.

All I was getting at is "Mikey01" more or less referred to Joan as a "one hit wonder", I was just setting the record straight... And as far as my saying they only play like one song (maybe two) by Pat around here on a regular basis (now) isn't made up... On the station where the bulk of their programming is 80s stuff, they cut down the "hit lists" of almost everyone and continually play the same one or two songs by them and ignore the rest of their stuff... Pat is no exception to them doing that... I haven't listened to that station in a few years, maybe they changed it up a little, but I doubt it...

And I agree with your comment that in the end, record sales don't really "count" as far as if an artist is good or not... I'm sure almost everyone on here could name someone they like and people'd be like "Who?"

BTW: Pat and Joan did/do shows together... They came around here a couple times in the last few years...

          Agreed with everything you said...

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Barbra Streisand's voice is way superior to Bette Midler's.
