I can't help but think of the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High every time I see or hear Pat Benatar. That scene where "the Pat Benatar look" is the fashion choice of the period.

Love is a Battlefield seems to be one of the signature 80's songs in my mind but not necessarily my favorite.
Shadows of the Night is right up there, Heartbreaker is awesome, You Better Run & Le Bel Age are great. Hit Me With Your Best Shot is probably her best known, though.
Most of her songs (hits) are pretty good.

PB is great in her own right for pop rock. LF was more hard rock in her own right along with the hair band movement. I'd have to go Joan Jett for the more punk rock and she was very punk to the core. Still is to this day. Maybe not so hard core as Wendy O from The Plasmatics who screamed on guitar for a good spell.
I hear PB is coming out with an autobiography. Should be interesting.
