I didn't get a chance to watch the ESPN announcement show.
I also don't watch a lot of basketball and even though I know the LeBron James controversy well; I'm just curious what he was like when he did play for the CAVS. Did he seem like a genuinely nice person or just a self serving jerk that he is now portrayed.
You have to remember that he is young (25 years old) and maybe he got some bad advice from his agent who told him to keep it all a mystery thinking it would just add to his popularity but looked like it back fired.
Again, I don't know because I didn't see the show and am not a huge basketball fan. He did honor his contract and maybe his exit could have been a little more tactful....it could have been an orchestrated event that his agent or some people surrounding him thought would be a good idea.
I know LeBron is getting a lot of attention but look at Albert Haynesworth if you want to talk about classless. He has a $100M contract and decides he is going to sit out because the Redskins want to move to a 3-4 defense and move him to nose guard. At that price, just play the position they ask you to play and give it everything you've got. Otherwise, go find another place to play.

You pretty much have it right. James played with class, signed 2 contracts with Cleveland (he came into the league at 18). All the money from the stupid spectacle went to the Boys and Girls Club of America. Everyone had a hand in it, his stupid agent, espn and himself.
He took about 30 mill less to go to a team that could win a championship without him having to do it by himself. The Cleveland area in around the stadium prospered greatly because of him. By him leaving the team has lost between 100-200 million in value.
I would be mad to if I was a Cavs fan because of the way he did it. I mean they would of been ****ed no matter what, but for some reason or for unknown reason he slapped them in the face on the way out.
As Heat fan since the conception of the team I am super happy and don't care if he leaves Miami the same way in 5 years. I do know he will be leaving with at least three rings, something that would Never happened in Cleveland, because they don't have Pat Riley running the organization.
