I can understand how the urgency and lack of communication just after 9/11 caused a lot of suspicion and panic that created the conspiracy theories - what I don't get is how an inside job conspiracy theory that would have involved millions of dollars and involved hundreds if not thousands of Americans - without a single whistle blower among them - is more plausible than terrorism.

    Occam's Razor folks!

Come on Bryan this is not a thread about BP. You can post that elsewhere. Not cool man.

I am postulating that there is likely just as much chance of a conspiracy between Big Oil and governments worldwide as there is with anything else mentioned here, John.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Is that what that BP empoyee was ranting about? I thought you were making a statement about the whole oil spill. I guess one need to read between the lines on that one. Please everyone I did not start this thread to have anyone make political statements and get it shut down.

One can argue conspiracy just about anywhere, really.

Well, there you have it. I'm convinced.

THIS. That's the thing about conspiracies, though - they're sexier than any true explanation. Also, IMHO (so as not to offend anyone here on the boards and their beliefs) lots of folks don't want to believe that such things like 9/11 can happen here. In the Middle East, sure, because it's happened there so often, and has been extensively documented. But here? Nope! The only way something like this could've happened was it being an inside job, hence it's a conspiracy.

Best thing to do is do your own research - watch the videos, listen to different opinions, really read and study everything, then form your own opinion.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

That's because people love to point fingers instead of take responsibility. It's easier and more comforting for some people to blame some nebulous secret group than accept the hard fact that people can be stupid, lazy, incompetent or unprepared and sometimes no matter how prepared we might be or think we are, bad things are still going to happen out of our control.

I hope I get to live long enough to see human beings get smarter.

Conspiracy theories? YEs there are many, but only 1 truth viewed from multiple perspectives. Alien coverups in Area -51, why not? I have always thought it popmus for us to believe that we are not only alone, but first. Life as we know it is a different story all together. Kennedy was murdered by multiple gunners, and speaking as a New Yorker directly affected by the events of 9/11, i would have to say, yes there was government involvement/substancial coverups, hands down. and my favorite? The Montauk Project. STRANGE THINGS used to happen here in the 70's/80's

Hey txteach, I just wanted to say that I've reflected on my postings on this thread, and I do have a political/rant edge. I think I can't separate that from anything that I would take the time to post here, so I'll lay off.
