That Ideal Supes is rugged as hell...and missing arms/cape.

But if you are a decent wood carver/worker/painter...it can be revived.

I may or may not bid on it...

You really can't make a bad pick between either choice.

I'm glad to see some of these new models of American Sports Cars coming out in classic colors. For a long time, it seemed like powder blue and teal had overtaken classic colors like yellow, orange, and purple. Forget about racing stripes as stock back in those days. These new Camaros and Challengers are available in all kinds of cool colors and the racing stripes are back big time. (Saw a purple Challenger with white racing stripes the other day and I actually thought in passing, "Hmmm...Hector would like that look.")

Glad to see the pendulum swing back to a classic paint scheme along with the classic lines.

I didn't see this thread Hector, didn't mean to post at the same time. I'm glad your going with the stripes and I like the pewter so much better. All the engine compartments on these models were satin black, so the engine doesn't have to be touched.

It's really not a big deal to do the jams at all. Painting the interior, you can do yourself easily.

I would go with Grey and Black. I think those colors are Tuff Looking.

First, I'm shocked its not going to be purple!??

As for color, Red is great....except is shows dirt like crazy. My pickup is bright red and chrome, looks fantastic, until it gets dirty...aargh! Pewter would be my choice. It looks great, and wouldnt show the dirt (and inevitable scratches) shes going to get.

Unless your packing something decent under the hood, I would skip the stripes too. A buddy of mine had a 69' Camaro with the rallye stripes....and an anemic six under the hood. The two went together like skunks and crowded elevators.

Nice car by the way Hec (and thats coming from a die hard MOPAR OR NO CAR man, so you know its a compliment!!) Remember when you were just starting to tinker with it. You've come a long way!

Well, I am kind of partial to red with black stripes:

                        Steve
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

I thought the same thing, but I figured Hector must have a reason "why not" that he hasn't shared, yet.

Count me in for blue w/ white stripes. Really about any color will look sweet on that car!

I appreciate the comments from another master...I love Mopar too.

It has a 289 V8...so it does have some balls...I mean...it's not a Viper or anything...but it's gets up pretty good for an oldie pony car...
