I'll buy that for a dollar.
As far as what you said:

Did the shoplifter deserved to be choked to death by the clerk? No.
Am I saddened for the shoplifter? No.
Does the clerk deserve some sort of punishment? Yes.
What kind and how long? Probation...some community service or something...and perhaps some monetary compensation to the shoplifter's family.
And, t2cool, if you like what Hector said, well, just find something good
in what I'm saying in that I agree with Hector's post too.

tell that to the people who get paid $15 an hour at a bank, if I'm a teller and someone pulls out a gun and tells me to hand over the money, I'd give him everything and offer him everything in the safe...I'm not gonna risk getting killed over money that's not mine or something that's not my job
Yes. IMO, if the security guard isn't available and someone else
makes a judgement call to help the store out...it may be an issue of sorts
(and will be sorted out in a courtroom)...but it makes perfect sense to me
regardless.
Keep posting t2, hector...I won't whine about it...seems like you have
just as much interest in this debate as me.
If it would've been the other way around everyone would be calling the guy a moron for going after a shoplifter in the first place
they would be saying, Man could you believe the idiot wasted his life going after a guy for $6 worth of ****,Leave a comment:

I'm just joking...you are serious...The guy wasn't assigning a punishment...he was acting in the store in the
heat of the moment.....and it was an ACCIDENT brought on by a struggling
thief that brought about the sad result.

something. Not to me it doesn't...the guy works in the store and apparently
was trying to protect the store's interests."
ok so if someone walks in to rob a bank, the teller should try and stop him the same way the security guard would right? Didn't think so
