Some of my more charming moments are when I sign credit card receipts in the presence of a cute young waitress and say "Now you're not going to keep this signature for yourself now are you?"
They usually say something funny like "ew, gross!".
I love getting older, fatter, and less attractive."God has put definite limits on the heights of man's wisdom, but no limits to the depths of his stupidity"Comment

I've met quite a few celebrities in the last 12 years. I've been seeing a lot of negative comments about Lou Ferrigno on this post. In his defense, I must say that I've had the honor and pleasure of meeting and hanging out with him. I actually attended a seven day cruise that he hosted for fans. When we had exclusive events with Lou and his family, he was super nice. Kind of like a good friend. Other times on the cruise, he wasn't as outgoing. One could have easily judged him as a jerk, but I just sensed he wanted some time to himself or with his family, so I respected his space. If I waved, he nodded. Nuff said. Fortunately, he's remembered me on two separate occasions I've seen him at since the cruise. The Incredible Hulk is my number one all time favorite TV show. Many have stated Lou is a jerk. I don't know. Maybe I was lucky. Lou actually has a friend who lives in my state, not too far from me for that matter and he and his ex were on the cruise. Lou's wife Carla is a super sweet lady and their daughter Shanna is a riot!
I've also heard negativity regarding Adam West. I met him when I was a reserve emcee at Dukesfest in Atlanta 2008. At first, I didn't know how it would go, but when I spoke with his agent/manager Fred, I showed him my voice impressions of the Dukes and then he asked if I could do Adam's voice, which I proudly showed him since I've been doing his voice for years. I also did Burt Ward's voice as well as Frank Gorshin. Adam not only loved it, but he also showed me his impersonations of Mr. Freeze and Liberace, so I got along great with him. Oddly enough, when Dukefest was over, I ate at an Outback Steakhouse and Adam and Fred was nearby. I actually got to chat with them one more time before they left and I headed home. It was a great experience. I finally met Batman!! And we got along!
For me, it's not about autographs. I'd rather have my picture taken with celebs I know or at least be able to chat with them about normal things. I try not to chat about their famous roles unless I know it's okay. I will buy an autograph for sale, but I won't approach and ask for one. Buying an autograph gives me the chance of talking with them.
The only negative experience I've had with a celebrity was with Erik Estrada at the Motor City Comic Con in 2008. His name should actually be Two Face. I've seen both sides of his personality. I've seen his nice side, and his flirtacious ways with women. Just like Ponch. But I recall trying to ask him a question about police work since he's a cop in real life, when others tried to cut in. He got flustered and told me, "Forget what you had to say!" I didn't say it, but I thought "F*** YOU!!!" I always liked Larry Wilcox on CHiPs anyway!!
My second favorite TV series is the Dukes of Hazzard. I've met all the surviving cast members except for Christopher Mayer (Vance Duke). Byron Cherry (Coy Duke) is super nice and cool and I've partied with him and friends. Don Pedro Colley is known to some for his role in Beneath the Planet of the Apes, but I know him as Sheriff Little. Super nice guy, and so are Sonny Shroyer (Enos) and Rick Hurst (Cletus). Ben Jones (Cooter) is nice and down to Earth. John Schneider and Catherine Bach are nice and personable with fans. James Best (Rosco) is kind of 50/50. He's an old man who was in many movies before the Dukes. I've gotten along with him fine, but I've heard he charges high prices for autographs. The only cast member I've heard negative things about is Tom Wopat. I must have gotten lucky since I've gotten along with him okay. But I've heard many Dukes fans and some non fans says he's an A***hole. From what I've heard, the last thing he ever wants to talk about is the Dukes of Hazzard. A friend of mine was an extra on the set of the 2005 remake movie. He met Lynda Carter and told me she was real nice until Wonder Woman is mentioned or brought up, so if I ever meet her, I know that's one subject to avoid.
I will be attending Motor City Comic Con next month and I'm looking forward to meeting Lindsay Wagner, especially with the news of the Bionic shows being worked on for future DVD release. I would someday like to meet Lee Majors since I attended college near his hometown of Middlesboro Kentucky. I was right across the border in Harrogate Tn. at Lincoln Memorial University. I also look forward to meeting Dawn Wells from Gilligan's Island. I had a crush on Mary Ann as a kid. Come to think of it, I think many people did.
The only other star I can recall meeting was Greg Evigan. I've met him twice now. I remember his best from BJ and the Bear. He was cool to hang out with. And I can't forget about William Katt from the Greatest American Hero. I met him last summer at Adventure Con in Knoxville Tn.
Other than Erik Estrada, the only other negative experience I had with a celebrity was country singer Jason Aldean, whom I interviewed by phone and he wasn't nice or mean. He just had no personality at all. Pure card board.
Cheers.Comment

*** I can see not wanting to be pigeon-holed into one thing if you do have a large resume in the field, but face it, to most people Tom Wopat is a Duke boy and Linda is Wonder Woman,,,, If they're appearing at functions where those roles wouldn't be brought up (let's hypothetically say Tom was giving a Global Warming speech) then yeah, I can see Dukes being "off-topic" and annoying... But if they're at any type of conventions, etc. and what the bulk of all attendees are there to see them for is their most famous role, then they had at least put on their actor's charm and deal with it...
