              What do you mean?

              I thought it was a very depressing but realistic portrayal of the Mexican Mafia...so much so...that a couple of film crew members were actually killed by gangs.

              Edward James Olmos received tons of threats because of this movie.

                Blood In, Blood Out...on the other hand...was a fun movie...but instead of using the real name of Mexican Mafia, they used La Onda instead...the opposite of American Me...

                  I agree. Very realistic. I grew up in L.A. around those gangs and frequented East L.A. a lot, being Mexican. Very accurate portrayal.
                  What I'm talking about is that scene in prison where they get EJO alone.

                                I love Stir Crazy and most of the other films mentioned here.

                                Count of Monte Christo is one of my favourite novels but I can't usually bear many of the film adaptations.
