Did you cook any food for a prosperous New Year?

In our family, it was black beans and rice. My mom's recipe was the best. Unfortunately, I don't know it. This year, I cheated and I'm making Zataran's. Next year though, I'm gonna figure it out and make it from scratch.

Anyone else make tradtional New Year's meals for prosperity?

One of the parents I used to babysit for a few years back, paid me a visit last night, along w/ her son, (now 16) and brought me my old fave, home baked mac and cheese and BBQ chicken wings. She used to bring them over when I would babysit her son every New Year's Eve.
