A gyro is basically roasted lamb (sometimes beef) on a soft pita bread with lettuce and dressing.
The dressing is usually similar to dressings used on ceaser salads (based on mayo)

                  Gyro's are actually quite tastie

A gyro is a greek sandwich usually with lamb vegetables and a yogurt sauce. Good stuff!
Wow, Brian never had salad dressing? What did you use on salads?
As for Ovaltine put it in a blender with a banana, awesome drink!

Sounds like what we get over here (Kebabs) they are Lamb with salad inside a pita bread and some sort of dressing.

                            Yep, exact same thing ...

Years ago we always used to call them shishkebabs ... but within the last 20-ish years the name gyro came into fashion.

I may be wrong, but I don't think their orgin is Greek.

I think it's actually Middle Eastern.
