No guilt needed on your part... anybody who says you should feel guilty is bieng dishonest. You provided good info, and they didn't sell. In my opinion there is only one absolute when it comes to this: Things are only worth what sombody is willing to pay for them; at the time they are willing to pay. Guides and even ebay are only and idea of what it's worth. As a seller you make the choice to sell, if you do so without research Caveat venditor . I don't feel sorry for you...

In a similar situation, I have been selling peices from a fantastic haul I got last month... Now the seller at the Doll Show, had Barbies and Maddam Alexander priced with giudes and ebay prices and was obviously quite savvy to selling these pieces. Why then did she sell me '75 Orange Box Adventure team sets for $10? Who knows... and WHO CARES! I will net close to $2000 after it's all said and done off these and the other goodies I got, and I don't feel an iota of guilt about it.
If you were honest with this lady you shouldn't either... Good for you!

I know what you are saying. I have bought a ton of stuff from her for less than $5 that I have sold for hundreds or thousands of dollars. I will do this all day long and not feel a bit of guilt because she priced them without researching them. I even tell her at the next sale what I made on a particular item I found at her last show. She tells me, "Good for you!" Like I said in my "Treasure Hunting 101" post, these estate companies only worry about the fine china, art, furniture, etc, and put $5 price tags on the toys and tools. She even told me she was gonna just put five Joe figures into plasic bags and put $5 prices on them.

I guess it is not really guilt I feel, it is more like I hope I didn't do more harm than good between me and her, causing me to lose some of the privileges I have that alot of her customers don't have, i.e. looking in the attic, sneak peeks, etc.

It has nothing to do with the money I will make. The profit will hopefully just buy me another great boxed/carded figure from Dumbdlor or a boxed G1 Transformer.

I am not as excited about this collection as other collections I have bought because there was no hunt. This feels more like selling something for a friend, which I do sometimes.

Thanks! And I was almost in the same boat as the gal I bought them from... I knew they were worth more than the $10 I bought them for, but how much? I didn't really know. Jason (gaga4toyz) suggested I do little research first and I did, I asked some serious Joe guys. This is perfect case in point; I almost put them up with $50 BINs, and would have been tickled to have made $300 off the deal, except they are worth around that much and more each! The research and headache of listing them netted me some nice kitty... but it's because I DID THE WORK... Sometimes that's all it takes. I think the lady you are buying from, likes not doing the work and takes the easy dough... As long as she doesn't want to do the work, you'll win every time.

Do you mean the Terror Drome? or the sears exclusive (cardboard) cobra missile command headquarters?

I think that's awesome. You were honest and the lady is probably happy with the money...plus, your going to invest some time in sorting and selling this stuff. I wouldn't worry about it.

I just sent you a message if you want to sell outright or trade for some of this. I can use a few pieces.

                Congrats!

Nice talking to you on the phone, Dan. Like I said, these figures are just scratching the surface of this collection Check this baby out, she is getting listed at 6:15pm PDT tonight. Thats a 6 foot table plus alittle more just to set it up. It only took me 3 hours to put together:

I remember standing in Wal-Mart with $40 burning a hole in my pocket (I saved and saved for a MOTU Snake Mountain) debating whether or not to get the USS Flagg instead. Wal-Mart had it marked down to just under $40. My mom, who usually indulged me, successfully talked me out of it on size alone.

She was right, we had no room for it. But I always kind of regretted it.

                        Good luck on your sales.

If I remember right, it retailed for right around $100. About 3 times the price for most playsets, back in the day when every toyline had at least one plastic playset per year.
