Now I really feel justified in having no faith in the property. No wonder everyone is puzzled as to why Supes didn't just crush Batman.

^ In all fairness, if someone had hold of my "Lois" in that manner, I'd deploy any strength or nastiness I could muster to make sure she was a-okay and the perp's well-being would be of no thought to me, even if I was Supes.

I realize that's an about-face, but I hadn't seen the movie and I lacked context. I was thinking more along the lines of Tito Ortiz kicking a three year old over a fence for being a three year old.

Its ok if your Wolverine, but Superman Doesn't Kill. That characteristic should hold true in any format. Batman shouldn't either, and I'm pretty sure some of those guys holding Ma Kent hostage didn't get up.

That scene where Superman took out the terrorist is one of the best examples of how Snyder doesn't get basic storytelling. His desire for dark spectacle clouds his vision. Clark is adamant that he didn't kill anyone when the terrorist group struck back at innocents and he was partially blamed. Well, then Zack, don't show Superman plowing a guy threw three brick walls! Have him rush up to the guy at super-speed and do the patented Super-Flick! It's how Superman knocks out a human in the comics without killing them! It's in the John Byrne Man of Steel mini-series you plagarized for your MoS film!

                    Rant over.
