Damn you, now you are forcing me to defend Iron Man 3. What's going on here?

Isn't Smallville by it's very definition the life of Clark Kent BEFORE he was Superman?

FYI - when Shumacher finally got out of movie jail with Tigerland, he admitted that B&R was consciously a remake of '66. He was out doing promotional and said everyone knew, the studio agreed on that direction as they felt it was the best road to reach kids, Joel got the idea from his then 10-y/old nephew who loved it.

^He also commented that he was specifically encouraged to make it "toyetic" to cross-promote merchandising.

Movies are always going to be a very subjective matter because people enjoy them for different reasons. I have gathered, by the discussions all of us have participated in through the years, most covet films and television shows that would not exactly win mainstream consensus with anyone today. Sometimes we love them for their dated production values or simplicity in application that reminds us of simpler times. Whatever the reason, most of these would not win many awards today (and some didn't win anything for the period they were released). Does that matter to any of us? Of course not. So Batman & Robin is no less a contender for that kind of discussion.

For me, when it comes to Batman, I have to be in a myriad of different moods to throw in certain movies. The Nolan films are well crafted movies, but if I've had a bad day it's the last thing in the world I want to see. You could probably park Batman Returns in that lot as well. But if I want to simply sit back and watch spectacle and just get lost in a fun house of adventure, Forever or B&R offer exactly what I need to recharge my batteries. The kids grew up loving them and my grandson is bonkers over it as well (and he's quite intelligent too). My kids are in their 20's now and they don't need me to explain the difference between a Schumacher movie and Nolan. They get that the treatment is different. But that's also what makes it inviting for them. They enjoy the Nolan movies but also like relaxing to the color of Schumacher's world. You don't have to be a blithering idiot to enjoy those movies as they are and fully understand they are just pushing the color of Batman's world and not trying to sulk in the darkness of the concept as if that mood makes it a project of higher endeavor. It's a guy in a bat suit driving a show car called the "Batmobile". Anyone want to suggest a Batman movie who's primary goal was NOT to sell toys? I think Schumacher might have offered a public service announcement.

^Couldn't have said it better Tom.

I also find as I get older, I prefer less and less "grim" movies. I never watch gut wrenching dramas...movies about sick and/or dying people...grisly horror movies, etc. Life can be depressing as it is...I look to movies to escape that, not be reminded of it. I like my movies to be fun, whether it's comedy, superheroes, sci-fi, action, or even classic monsters. As such, I've missed seeing some of the most iconic films ever made. And I'm okay with that, because some movies that I have seen...Schindler's List for example, I wish I had never watched, and will never watch it again.

Even more new footage. Is it just me or does it seem ludicrous that after Superman hit Batman hard enough to go through a building (literally), he would say, " If I wanted it, you would be dead already" ? Completely un-Superman like. So arrogant too. Doomsday please... humble this Kryptonian.

Ben Affleck was a guest on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and brought along with him a new Dawn of Justice clip featuring Batman and Superman fight!

One thing I'm liking about the promotional blitz for this, is there does seem to be some degree of fun, and a touch of lightness to the film. This is what these DC films REALLY need. I'm less apprehensive about the actual film now. Still not keen on the promotional arm trying to ride every bandwagon they can find, but I have hope this will be less morose than MoS.

Doomsday is not going to humble him, Batman is...as he just shot a little kryptonite bullet at him (caught by Supes, but it's all part of Bat's plan)...the beginning of the end for Supes.

But first Deadpool is going to beat him. Later this week he passes Man of Steel at the box office. Then on to Iron Man 2, Iron Man, and Guardians around the corner. Impressive.
