I liked this episode. IF they use it as the END to Barry's "I should avenge my Mom" bit. I still don't understand why he didn't LAST season. They still haven't sold me on his rather arbitrary decision not to, but after this, I think they can put it to rest.
I didn't know anything about Kevin Smith directing this one, but saw Mewes in the credits, and then Smith himself.
I still enjoy the show, but I'm ready for this season to be over. I just hope they don't kill Henry next episode. Having him say he's moving to Central City...to me that feels like they are setting him up for tragedy.
Maybe, just MAYBE...they are going to kill Henry, but reveal that his grandfather was the REAL Jay Garrick...as played by Shipp. They said they were going to restore Jay's heroic stature somehow.

My money's on something like that, too -- like revealing the E2 Henry Allen is named Jay Garrick and somehow he ends up Barry's mentor/father figure.
I agree with you Chris, when Jay Garrick first showed up was so psyched up...then it just dragged on & on. Too many new characters ..Wally should have been pushed off until next season, coming on as a sidekick to a more experienced Flash.
So far I thought the Killer couple Frost & Shark were the only interesting E2 villains. Rupture was lame with a terrible name, so was Tar Pit . Problem was they introduced most of the big name Rogues last year, took Cold & Heat Wave out. Only Mirror Master is left to appear.
And Zoom is cool, but we're basically repeating the first season plot- my friend is really my enemy an evil speedster.
Hopefully with this episode we finally settle on (ugh, can't believe I'm saying this) Iris & Barry as a couple...in a solid relationship. Let them be stable so The Flash can do his thing. Push all the romantic angst onto Wally & Cisco.

One other thing...is the Flash suit now made up from the Speed Force? Being as the SF is such a cool & chatty alien, er, dimensional god, uh, sentient energy being. Whatever. Hope it doesn't talk anynore it's too weird. Mopee.
With them making a point of saying that Barry's fathers mothers maiden name was Garrick my money is that it's Shipp as the real earth2 Jay Garrick in the mask.
Maybe that's why Shipp left for awhile, then they showed him working out chopping wood....he was off getting in shape to wear the coatume again? To look more like a speedster who was confined for a long time?
I watch the show every week, although I know nothing about flash ie. comics etc. One thing that gets me(I know this is only a show) is that these three kids plus Wells (ok hes from E2 now) run a joint the size of a football stadium. Who pays the bills? Does "star labs" even make money? How do the kids get paid, just grab some cash out of the petty cash box? Isnt the place just a little too big, just for this lot. They always just seem to be in a couple of rooms etc.
It's not very well thought out, but "evil" Harrison Wells (really Eobard Thawne) left Barry STAR Labs in his will. Now how they continue to make money, I'm not sure. Patents, like Reed Richards? Sure, why not.
Yeah...my interest in watching Arrow has dropped to the point that I have 3 episodes DVR'd and am in no hurry to catch up. I will most likely opt out for next season.
Flash is starting to have the same effect on me. The past several episodes have been a struggle for me to stay focused on the program, I seem to get distracted very easily. Hope they redeem the show next season.
