Oscar worthy performances from Downey Jr. and Evans.

Spader's Ultron up there with Darth Vader of cinema villains.

Perfect combo of drama, comedy, action and effects.

Hawkeye and Hulk get lots of development.

It's twice as good as the first one.

Maybe the best comic book movie ever made.

Sounds like some people love this movie.

But, it seems vague on a few levels.

Firstly, who are the people that said that stuff?

And if the sources are too inconvenient to list, then, is it possible to know if there was anything negative said about the movie, and, if so---what?

IMDB...there are 10 user and 13 critic reviews, almost unanimously positive. I mediocre review calling the movie sexist for showing Black Widow's cleavage while she's fighting.

Reviews don't matter. A2 is bullet-proof.

The one negative review on IMDB is not at all about sexism. That was tacked at the end after she panned a number of production decisions. Whether she's right or wrong is irrelevant, but she's at least cogent compared to eight of the positives. One guy talks about his family life and references Roe v Wade....

Personally? Reviews are indeed relevant.

I don't seek out movie theatre jaunts unless I really, really like the franchise (Avengers doesn't qualify), so I like to know the gist of reviews overall (if one is posting about them anyways). It gives me reference to assist choosing going to see any given movie at any given time. Altho... that doesn't always work. I mean, I got suckered into seeing Abrams' first Trek by rave reviews across the board and making spur-of-the-moment decision based on those reviews---and as a result, NO review was gonna convince me to see the second Trek.

So, yeah, as far box-office, certain movies are still going to perform really well (Avengers 2, Phantom Menace, etc.), but since I'm not a Producer (and have no financial stake) for these movies, the fact that any given movie is "box office bullet-proof" is of greater irrelevancy than what's being expressed in reviews.

That said, thanks for checking out the IMDB reviews and giving the more detailed dynamics of that feedback. Sounds pretty highly positive so far.

^IDK Hector...I quickly skimmed through at least two dozen reviews this morning at 5:30. Those were the things that stood out to me.

Downey is a higher caliber of an actor than Evans...that much is obvious. The sad truth, is that these types of movies don't go over too well with the old farts running the Academy Awards, so I doubt very much neither actor will be even remotely be considered in the Best Actor category come Oscar time.

Avengers 2 is indeed bulletproof.....a zillion poor reviews wouldn't dent the box office. The money is gonna be there, whether it's panned or not.

But good to hear its good!
