What comic fan doesn't look at pics like that and weep internally?

Just look at the variety of comics on that spinner rack.. especially titles for little little kids, like Casper and Little Lulu.

I should have bought the one on sale at Mego Meets a couple of years ago.

Much much to the chagrin of my lovely wife, my spinner rack sits full of trade paper backs in the upstairs living room with a Boba Fett helmet on top. How on Earth I've managed that feat I will not know as downstairs is my "nerd" domain.

My local grocery store (Wegmans) still has a spinny rack full of comics. Fun kid friendly titles too like Simpsons and Scooby-Doo.

My old timey spinner rack ("Hey Kids! Comics!") is crammed in my toy room (half blocking the doorway!) filled with underground comix and EC reprints. I'd love to get a pile of cheap, beat up 70's era Marvel comics someday and fill my spinner rack with them, that would remind me more of my childhood trips to the variety store.

So cool--can anyone here date that photo by the comics displayed?

I like the pharmacy in the background , too--I was thinking it was around the early '60s?

I used to have Casper and Little Lulu comics. I remember in 1990 when I moved to WI for awhile and I went to my local convenience store (name escapes me), and I saw the spinner rack with Archie on the top "Hey Kids! Comics! $1.00" I nearly fainted. A DOLLAR?? Whatever to getting comics w/ pocket change? I had gotten a huge stack of 70s Archie comics for a quarter each at Rummage-O-Rama, and these titles cost $1? Now I only wish they were that cheap nowadays.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Only 80 bucks too! Just as I was pulling out my $$$ to buy it, Brian reminded me that we would have to get it across the border, so I passed.

I think it went home with the right person, IIRC Art/Mego Milk bought it.
I wonder if he put it in his store, Aw Yeah Comics?

There was one at the Buffalo flea market this summer, but it was really rusted up.
