I think it went home with the right person, IIRC Art/Mego Milk bought it.
I wonder if he put it in his store, Aw Yeah Comics?

There was one at the Buffalo flea market this summer, but it was really rusted up.
Ha, I guess that Brian didn't want that thing crammed in his car, there probably wouldn't have been enough room for all of you!

Yeah, that one in Clarance was really rusted, wasn't worth the price considering (what was he asking, $200?). For these racks you really have to be the right person in the right place at the right time. I snagged mine for cheap at a local antique co-op, the guy said I was the first person that even showed an interest in it, but to me it was gold! Buying them on line instead of locally is really tough because the shipping would be really expensive and a total PITA!

yeah, I just couldn't imagine getting pulled over and having to explain that. Plus I had already bought a boatload of stuff and filled up the back of poor Brian's SUV already. Then of course I bought even more stuff at Clarence on the way home! (it was my first time at Clarence)

For some reason I can't see some pics on the museum:

For some reason that works...I can see the pic now...just have to click on it to make it bigger.

That is a great pic of a time gone by

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see

        Isn't it a pity".

Back when I had a store we called this the comic killer. Any book that went in here came out in a lower grade,so it was used for junk comics.
Now there was a crooked comic shop down the road and the owner had like 10 of these and he would put golden age in them, but some of the racks are made for newer books and they would not fit so great books got destroyed, It would drive us all nuts and we only went into his shop to try to save a good book here and there.

That's exactly why mine houses my current, unread library of trade paperbacks.

I remember on Fridays after school I liked to walk home to see what comics, magazines, cards, or rack toy I could find. That is exactly what the store clerk in 7-11 use to yell at me when I went in browsing. I use to get in trouble when trying to put them back in the spinner to. I was probably the reason they eventually moved them to the magazine area. I put alot of money into their arcade machines though (Joust and later Toobin).

So many titles and genres back then...

Whatever the exact date, it appears to be right after the Comics Code Authority was implemented. Look how prominently the Comics Code stamp is on these books. It's huge! Don't see any of the EC or other hard-hit companies. The lone horror title appears to be that copy of Mystic.

At Dr. Comics and Mr. Games here in Oakland, the spinner rack is used for the 6-10 age groups w/ stuff from Cartoon Network, Archie and the like. It's towards the front near the books for the same age groups.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

I wonder if that's Sarah Karloff Boris is holding there? Was his comic out at this time?
