Hector, I'd go with motion capture for Thing rather than the suit, so size wouldn't be an issue.

But you guys are right, this looks like a train wreck right out of the station. wish Marvel would just buy the license back, but there is no real incentive when the studio can get the Guardians of the Galaxy made, it can bide its time until Fox sets the FF free.

By going this young, they're turning the FF into The New Mutants, so now I'm wondering if they're going to interlock them to the X world.

I think they already stated Thing is going to be CG this time.

Thing would work much better in CGI motion-capture, that's for sure.

Still need an actor to play Ben though.

Please don't let it be Seth Rogen, please no...lol.

I vote for an all Asian cast!!!!! It's yet to be done so why not, they've tried everything else.

That would actually make a lot of sense when you think of the context as to how they become the FF. I could see Japan or South Korea launching four science-oriented people in an experimental craft and whammo...

But stateside? The lawyers and bureaucracy would stop them before they got to Cape, and at least one of the crew would be on there as a publicity stunt.

Hell, with NASA broke and practically defunded, maybe that's their storyline excuse.

As for the question of ethnicity? I don't think it'd make a huge dif. It was never part of their story; except that they were created during an era where non-white characters were rare. In New York.

But - but - but - in a comic book from 52 years ago the characters were white! When they make this crappy movie it will be like Hollywood is changing history! If this happens, then next time they quickly slap together a movie using beloved well known brands to make a specific summer opening date The Katzenjammer Kids could be Mexican! Scrooge McDuck could be a mallard! The Shmoo could be purple! It's PC gone wild! Don't you know that?!!

What do you mean "part of their story"?

Miles Teller is a front runner for Mr. Fantastic? This movie has all the makings for a complete bomb. Perhaps Lady Gaga can be the invisible Girl? I have ZERO interest in seeing this abomination.

I hate to say it but I'm pretty much sick of the super hero genre of films. All of 'em. I never thought it would happen but it has. And just the talks of this 'film' has ensured that I will probably never watch another one of these films unless I get it for a buck out of the Redbox. Not to be a downer but man this is getting so tired with revamp after revamp of old character after old character.

As far as the ethnicity issue brought up earlier I just have to sound off. While their ethnic backgrounds may seem to have nothing to do with the character that simply isn't true. These characters are very well developed and shaped from ALL of their experiences from birth to present day and then to what they believe the future has to hold. So it is important unless of course they are going to tweak the influences that made them who they are at their core. To not do so would leave a lopsided character IMO. But then again, to put that much effort into a revamp why not just go ahead and write a WHOLE NEW CHARACTER, STORY, ADVENTURE, ETC....

                            Nerd rant over...

Well said Jim! I think it's a given that when we were kids, we only dreamt of a reality where we could see movies made about our heroes on the big screen with big budgets and big name actors. But not at the cost of who they are, what they look like, or even what they represent. Most countries take pride in their cultural traditions which are not subject to interpretation like we do here. While some may consider a "hero" to be little more than dispensable entertainment. The truth is most people connect with their heroes on a very personal level. Unfortunately Hollywood is run by liberal, special interest groups who have a well documented history of wanting to wipe the slate clean in favor of their own interpretation. Sadly our country is becoming a collection of sheep who feel compelled to lower our heads and allow others to dictate, less we run the risk of "hurting" someone's feelings. Equality comes from respecting one another, not stepping aside to be manipulated. Unfortunately when I look at the direction these films (and animated features) are going, they cease to be about the characters I knew or even tread on familiar themes that reflect the values these characters use to embody. The capes are little more than window dressing to grandstand someone's personal ideals on a society who should be more aware of the messenging going on here.

What I hate most about all this PC casting is, it's completely one sided. If any studio DARED cast the Falcon, or Power Man, Robbie Robertson or James Rhodes as white, we'd never hear the end of it, even though there's nothing specific to any of those characters that dictates they be black. It's always okay as long as it's a white character being replaced by another race. Nick Fury, Kingpin, Heimdall, Perry White, and soon Electro, all fine.
