^This is great to hear, or read. One thing I always loved about Kirby's 60s Cap (my favorite version of the character) was the kinetic frenzy of the stories. Cap was ALWAYS in motion. Relentless moving from one opponent to another. I really enjoyed the scenes in the first film that captured this, and it sounds like we'll get even more of that in the sequel.

Yeah Kirby's cap was defined for me in a story where a group attacks Avengers mansion thinking Cap is the weakest link and he obliterates all of them. That's how he should fight to me. I think that the previous movies got really close to that.

I'm also hoping at some point we get to see Cap is worthy to pick up Thor's hammer in an Avengers sequel. That is an awesome statement about the character.

With me not really putting superhero movies high on my "favorite movies" list (despite me loving superheroes a LOT), this movie (according to this thread's posts) has all the makings of being my favorite superhero movie yet. The first Captain America movie... I thought was perfect. Avengers not so much. But I did love seeing all those nicely defined heroes interacting with each, still.

As far as what some are saying about Cap's power... the thing Chris said about the Kirby Cap etc.... that's something I'm really into. I want all the biggest heroes that I bought merch goodies of in the 1970s to be the most powerful heroes out there... and, basically in order of their merch popularity. Cap was HUGE back then.

To illustrate my point... it's killing me that a lot of 70's DCU heroes haven't even DEBUTED on the big screen, let alone kicked backside in them.

On the plus side for the 70's DCU top heroes being redeemed... in that new DCUA flick, you got Captain Marvel as a member of the Justice League (and I'm guessing he's a member in the current JL comic too?)

anyways.... "great job and kudos to Marvel Films" on pulling off a great job on CAPTAIN AMERICA, a character that I've always seen as more challenging to portray on a movie screen than the next classic hero.... yes, this Chris Evans Cap could be the greatest film superhero achievement of all of 'em ever.
