What's the First Comic Book You Remember Reading?

They started this as a thread at my LCS'as FB page, and it seemed like a fun topic to bring to the MM.

The first comic I ever read was far enough back that I couldn't read yet. It was an old JLA comic. I remember trying to make sense of the story from the pictures, and being confused by Robin's costume, because, looking back on it, it was actually most likely Dr. Mid-Nite in a JSA crossover story. Couldn't tell you much else about it, but it's the first comic I remember clearly sitting down and "reading."

The first comic I remember actually buying off the racks was the 1977 Batman Spectacular, aka DC Special Series #15. I'm pretty sure I had comics before that, but I distinctly remember asking my mom if I could get it. Marshall Rogers cover and interior artwork, also with Michael Golden, Michael Netzer, and Denny O'Neil pens the tale where Batman and Talia "wed" under the rules of Ra's Al Ghul's country. Great stuff, if a bit gruesome for a two-and-a-half year-old!!!

I remember the issue of Metamorpho with the first appearance of Element Girl, A JLA issue with the Royal Flush Gang, King Size Avengers 1, and more than a few World's Finest 80 page Giants. My Grandfather's nephew left them in the basement at the house in Forest Park.

While I knew about superheros from superfriends I didnt start reading about them until I got the blue ribbon digest. This, archie, and those oversized holiday comics are probably my earliest comic reading.
I still cant remember the specific ones I had but I'm sure I had this one

Detective Comics #532 was one of the first comics I remember owning. I picked it out at the grocery store.

The first comic I remember having was a World's Finest with the sons of Superman and Batman, which was confusing when I got some Superboy comics later on. I also had Spider-Man 120 and 121.

I don't know which one was the first I read myself. I had comics before I could read and I didn't begin reading until the first grade around 1974.

No specific memory of what comic was the "first", but just to throw out a title that I know I bought very early in my comic reading...

I think the first one(s) I remember reading were Batman, Archie and Casper (Television influences). The Batman one might have been "Detective" #400 (the first appearance of Man-Bat)...I seem to think it was that one or one with the Elongated Man in the back-up.

Fantastic Four 178 fighting the Salems Seven. Strange turn of events on that book as it was early George Perez, my all- tlme favorite. I didn't know he drew that issue till a few nights ago.

My earliest memory involves me being home from school, terribly sick and my father bring home a bunch of comics for me. These three were definitely included. It's insane that I remember this but the cover dates match up.

There was a coverless issue of "Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen" that I recall in which he thought he was a reincarnated viking or something like that that I've never been able to pinpoint...

As far as the first comic I still have that I actually remember purchasing (my mother had previously thrown away any of the ones that were on my closet floor) that would be "Amazing Spider-Man" #170:
