Just another reason , not to be a fan of the Nolan films.

Right. I'm with you on that. I'm glad they are done with them so they can get a real writer to come in and maybe write Batman into a JLA movie the way he is supposed to be. When I saw Batman begins I thought it had potential for some good sequels but Nolan crapped out and it just didn't add up for me. No thank you to these movies for me also.

I applaud Nolan for ending his trilogy and his take on Batman. He definitely went in a different direction than just about any franchise sequel I can think of, short of "finite" franchises like Harry Potter, LOTR, Twilight (ugh). We all know there will be another Batman film, but this is Nolan's last, so he went out in a way that few others would dare to.

Well, Bryan Singer kind of did a similar thing with Superman Returns...but that really backfired on him. Having no Superman film for nearly 20 years, taking the risks and going in the directions he did seemed wrong, despite it being a good movie overall.

The Story of John Blake was completely not needed.
It totally took away from The Story, of Batman imo.
I think Nolan wrote JGL in , after Interception, because they became Buds....
The Movie woulda already been better with Far Less Focus on JGL, Rather than Batman.

Again, Nolan Spent far too Much Time Telling a Story without Batman, than With Batman.
I still don't Understand why this Movie is Called Dark Knight Rises, When He took off at the End of the Film. They Shoulda Just Called this Film Gotham Days.

I look at it that anyone can BE Batman, but Bruce Wayne is THE Batman. Dick Grayson, Terry McGinnis, John Blake, etc can become Batman, but Bruce is THE Batman.

Kind of like Sean Connery and James Bond. Daniel Craig is great, but Connery IS Bond.

No, I'm saying the film makes the case that anyone can be Batman, but they can't. Wayne was special in the beginning, he just didn't realize it. He already had what it took to be Batman, it just needed brought out. Kind of like how Steve Rogers was always Captain America on the inside. The super-soldier serum wouldn't have worked the same way on anyone else. Anyway...let's put this to rest. I'm glad you like DKR...it's just not for me. I think Nolan lost his vision after the second installment. I'll take Arnold as Mr. Freeze any day...he was, dare I say...cool.

Honestly, I think Nolan made an admirable effort but the whole series just wasnt fun to watch. To gritty and and grounded on realism. Thats just my own personal taste.

Batman and Robin at least tried to be fun, even though it was around two hours of merchandising.

Like whats been said before I hope to see more of the caped crusader next time, less of the dark knight.

No one else could do it. Same with Spider-Man. When I said exceptional individual, I was referring to the person, not the powers...in case you missed that.

If you noticed, others did too in the Dark Knight installment. When one of them says, "What gives you the right?" Batman says, "I'm not wearing hockey pads." The POINT is it takes more than the outfit. It takes the commitment and the resolve to know how to fight crime. These guys were out there in this celebratory romp thinking the outfit made them special. He was fighting crime with weapons that worked. And through the training he received. But he started out just like them. Robin started out just like him. It's your commitment to the cause and understanding how to utilize the tools necessary to fight back. But their all human. No special powers. Nolan was illustrating that Batman was a symbol. Batman showed up in a lot of different ways. B&R is just a cartoon with no thought process to the character except to sell toys. Listen to the director comments if you disagree. Schumacher admits it. No one is saying you can't like what you want. There's just no comparison to the content of script; care in application; or the results of what the public wanted to see when you place it next to the Dark Knight series. Any of them. But saying Batman pulling out an American Express card is somehow more thoughtful and relevant than Nolan's expression is like saying the Toxic Avenger is better than the Avengers.

Touche to what? A person that applies themselves to a cause can use a character like Batman or Spider-man as a metaphor to climb those obstacles. In Nolan's films the mask didn't do the work, anymore than it did in Spider-man.

When people see Spider-man masked, they realize the costume isn't what makes him special or the powers he has. It's the person behind the mask that makes the difference.
