    Updates:

    Premise:
In a future where mutants were killed by Sentinels, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent to the past, to work in partnership with a reticent Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), amid the turbulent 1970s.

According to Patrick Stewart, there will be an explanation to Professor X's return after he was vaporized by Jean Grey in X-Men: The Last Stand.

^^^ Um yeah, there already is an explanation for his return. I'm pretty sure it's called actually watching until the movie's over.

Director Bryan Singer stated that "Hugh [Jackman] of the future is sent, his consciousness is sent into his younger self [and] Hugh gets to play both parts because [Wolverine] is ageless.".

Singer described [Kitty] Pryde as the prime facilitator and that Pryde's phasing ability enables time-travel to happen.
Halle Berry stated that "there’s something very revealing and shocking about Storm in this movie. There are some things you find out about her that I think give you much more insight into who she is." When asked about if her pregnancy affected Storm's role, she replied "I wasn’t in as much as I was meant to be though. My ever-growing belly was posing a constant challenge! What I could do was getting more limited so the role that I play is so different from what it could have been, due to my surprise pregnancy."

Singer tweeted a picture in Twitter of actor Lucas Till at the set of the film, which confirmed that the actor is returning as Havok.

So.... they take a classsic story and shoehorn the currently popular characters in. *sigh* Is it the 90's again already? Nice how they relegate Kitty ot second bannanna in that one. Also nice how they mention it's Jackman (and apparently not Wolverine) being sent back in time.

^^^ Well to be fair, Kitty wouldn't be alive in 1973.

            >Kitty wouldn't be alive in 1973.

According to the old continuity she WOULD, but she'd be 9. Of course, when has stuff like that been an obstacle before?

and who would listen to a 9 year old. This is the Singer continuity anyway, not Claremont's.

Who'd listen to a hairy little sociopath? Whoever the plot requires, that's who.

                  >This is the Singer continuity anyway, not Claremont's

It is, but it bothers me that they keep mining the popular stories and shoehorning the currently popular components in. For me, it becomes one of them "spot the differences" puzzles 'cos I MOSTLY know what's going on, and the only real kick is seeing what tweak they made THIS time.

Yeah, people seem to think he's dead for some reason. But we know better than that.

                              Here's his official statement:
Of all the arcs that I wrote, that’s probably the most popular with fans. I’ve been asked to kind of, maybe be around for a little consultation. I won’t have a lot of input at all, but it’s nice that they asked. I’m looking forward to seeing it on screen. It was fun to write, and fun to see what John Byrne and Terry Austin did, and now we get to see what it’s like on the big screen. So it will be fun.
