Other superhero movies proved that you can use the classic costumes from the comics on film and be serious, then why can't the X-Men? Of course, I thought the black leather suits were bad-***, so I'll be happy either way.sigpic

We've come far enough in the genre' now, that the social stigma of "tights" may finally be coming to an end. I don't think studios fear being compared to Adam West's Batman anymore. They might even embrace it now. Speaking of which, maybe we can FINALLY get Batman in his classic greys.Comment

I thought the First Class uniforms were a nice compromise between the original comic outfits and the first 3 X flicks. I hope they don't screw around too much with them.

I feel as you do about Batman, Tom--I'd love to see a more classic version. But other than The Phantom & Spidey, we've not seen tights on movie heroes; I think movies/marketing are still scared to death of them.

The fact that Singer says "No black leather" in the DOFP movie doesn't really surprise me too much since, in the original story, most of the relevant content happened while the characters were out of costume and the future version of Logan spent all of his time in a pair of brown trousers, a shirt and a brown leather jacket. I just wonder if they'll actually be TRUE to the framework set up by Claremont and Byrne and we'll see Wolvie get toasted by a Sentinel...sigpic Oh then, what's this? On November 27, Bryan Singer tweeted that McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult will be reprising their First Class roles, and that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will reprise their respective roles as the older versions of the characters played by McAboy and Fassbender. Also in November 2012, it was reported that Hugh Jackman is in talks to reprise his role as Wolverine.sigpic

I'm assuming that the present X-Men story will be taking place after X3...if we're confirming that the 2 series are in the same continuity (to which Vaughn has stated First Class is a reboot). Or maybe they're going to say the First Class series is in a different reality trying to warn ours about the Sentinal attack (or I could be waaaay off the mark and just embarrassing myself.
).
