He may have been. I thought about that after I wrote the post. While I've read a lot of comics with Falcon, thinking back I have never read his origin. If he was a pimp and a drug dealer, I don't that I've missed much.

He was created in the middle of the black exploitation craze in the early 70s, so ...

Winter soldier is in the film. He could be considered a serial killer.

Ha. We're the "Geek Blind leading the Geek Blind" here I think I get what you're saying about "Winter Soldier as serial killer" (because I've briefly looked over that storyline) and, yeah, I'm pretty sure Falcon's origin in the comics wasn't far off (or WAS) drug dealer/pimp. I was always more interested in his societal image, but have a bit to learn as far as the detailing of his origins and overall arc since his integration (ha) into the Cap Universe.

Take the "blaxploitation" thing out of the equation, and you still have a guy who went on ice in, what, the 40's? He wakes up in the 60's and sees Falcon a few years later, and he sees the whole COUNTRY and THE Captain "America" says to himself, THIS is "my" America? A 1970s OR a 2010s "product of urban blight African-American" is going to have an impact on Captain White-Bread's psyche... and really, THAT'S very interesting to me... the potential for humorous moments as well tragic statements.

This is confirmed: Dave Batista from WWE is officially Drax the Destroyer. Pretty darn cool, I think.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

On April 23, 2013, Kevin Feige confirmed that the rights for Daredevil returned to Marvel Studios and Disney, opening the possibility of including the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At Entertainment Weekly's CapeTown Film Fest in 2013, Feige stated that Marvel was planning to release a female superhero film. In May 2013, the Hollywood Reporter reported that, in addition to the planned Doctor Strange film, Iron Fist, Black Panther and The Runaways are "on the horizon", and Marvel has working scripts for Blade and Ms. Marvel.

Her'e what I read about him:

Sam Wilson was a former resident of New York City's Harlem neighborhood, who had adopted a wild falcon he trained and named Redwing. When a group of men on an island "in the tropics" wanted a hunting falcon, Wilson answered the ad, only to discover that the self-dubbed "Exiles" were former Nazis in league with the supervillain the Red Skull. He escaped, but remained on the island to organize the natives to confront the Exiles, who had turned them into serfs. At the urging of Steve Rogers, whom he later learned was Captain America, Wilson took on the costumed identity of the Falcon and underwent training with Rogers in order to better inspire the villagers and lead the fight.

However, in issue #186 (June 1975), writer Steve Englehart retconned aspects of the Falcon's past. Originally depicted as a former social worker, motivated by a desire to better the lives of inner-city youth, the Falcon was revealed as a mob-connected thug and pimp whose memories were altered by the reality-warping Cosmic Cube (by the Red Skull himself).

So that's where I remember the pimp aspect from.

In a June 2013 interview, Clark Gregg explained how the TV series would tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe films: "...the exciting part is going to be seeing the way that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. interacts with the S.H.I.E.L.D. component in Captain America 2, and the other movies, and whether those movies will then affect our show." Jed Whedon said the TV series will work in tandem with the Marvel films, both past and upcoming. “We plan on trying to weave in between the films and try to make them more rewarding on both ends,” said Whedon. Cobie Smulders has also been in talks for her to reprise her role as Maria Hill in the show after her appearance in The Avengers and in June, Samuel L. Jackson expressed interest in guest starring as S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury.

On July 11, 2013, Wright revealed to Digital Spy that Ant-Man's script is finished.

Plus, some epic Winter Soldier concept art released today!

Apparently the Doctor Strange movie might well be formally announced at Comic Con... maybe to star Joseph Gordon Levitt?

Hmm, I couldn't really see him as Strange. But then again, I haven't seen that many films with Levitt in them, maybe he'll be a good choice.

Also, on July 15, 2013, composer Bear McCreary confirmed that he will compose music for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series.

That Cap art is nice. I always see Dr. Strange as older (much like RDJ as Iron Man), so I'm not sure about Levitt either. I'd say Depp may be willing to come down some on his salary with several recent bombs under his belt.
