Yeah, that's true. I also wrote, "...so we're all individuals with our tastes that occasionally get trod upon. We get irked from time to time and it usually isn't a big deal, but I can see where it gets personal when it's your favorite character or one that really represents something to you." What I meant by that is that we all have our issues, but it doesn't always have to be made into a big deal. It's only comics. I was just commenting on things going on in the industry that might offend us as individuals and how those things might not belong there, and I certainly don't want to seem like I'm espousing a view beyond "Keep your comics reporting about comics, geek press." It would be hard to discuss this topic without politics, since the original blog post was quite political and the treatment of women in society is a political issue. The blogger has every right to feel that way. It's her blog. If I am trying to promote a certain perspective with my post, though, I'd like it to be one that encourages those working for the comics companies to handle the characters with care and consideration. I'd be happy to go back and delete out any sections of that preceding post if any members are offended by opinions other than their own. No offense to anyone--apart from the hacks at Wizard Magazine--was meant.

^^ The crack about Wizard and the DNC sounded like political opinion to me. If Wizard's a subsidiary of anything its the big 3 publishers. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

If anything, this thread has made me more eager to pick up the issue of WW in question and read it. We cancelled almost all of our subscriptions when the reboot happened, but I decided to give WW a chance. I still don't like the changes that were made to Diana's origin, but the story itself started out well enough to keep me reading. There have been a few "Huh?" moments where I wasn't sure where they were going with it. If this direction the creative team is taking is what it seems, it definitely goes against the traditional DC Amazons. But it does address questions that have been asked about their sexuality in the past. It sounds messed up, but it's no worse than the rape of Hippolyta that may or may not still be in continuity. I'm not going to start complaining until I read the actual book.Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

Torgo,
What you mean and what people interpet you said can be 2 different things. I understand the need to mention that the blogger dragged Sandra Fluke into it and I do agree tho that hacks @Wizard Magazine are, errr, hacks, Lol.

DC Marvel and Image. They never gave DH a lot of cover time. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

the absolute middle class tragedy of a liberal arts education.
John, I'm sure you can understand situationally sometimes a thoughtful response might be more appropriate than a reactionary one, or an irreverent/flip drive by.
I'll totally let you razz me about my ridiculous verbiage some more when I see you at Mego Meet, on the condition that you at least take a few sips of Molsons.Comment

I just read the issue in question...Still one of the best series to come out of the New 52. The storyline really doesn't bother me as much of what was previously portrayed in other incarnations about Wonder Woman, the Amazons and the Gods isn't really the same anyway. This isn't the Perez version where they all wore robes and lived on cloudy mountaintops.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment
