I can see it. It's 'cos Aquaman summons a pack of Megalodons as his retort to the superhero ****ing contest, and any ONE of the heroes present could easily deal with a pack of Megalodons.... so he kinda backhandedly supports their argument.

No that's not it although I see your point. It's just I've seen this sort of thing a lot before and it's not new.

It's nice that DC has a rouster of artists and writers taking Aquaman seriously, I totally love that. It just seems that they're all taking the same approach, "let's call him lame and then have him be a total badass" Seriously, everytime I see him he's stabbing things with his trident.

Its the same writer applying the schtick to him in both Aquaman and JLA. So not really a whole roster of writers doing it.

I agree that the trident's currently de riguer. Honestly, visually you can show case him using the trident or the sea-life. It's a artistic crutch, but:

Who complains about GL using his ring, Superman his heat vision, WW her bracelets/lasso, Batman his batarang? Or Spidey webs, Thor's Mjolnir?

Just sayin.

I never associated Aquaman with the trident but at least it is better than the rings coming out of his forehead or the seahorse.
