I wonder if Hal is enjoying the taste of his own shoe leather [or whatever the soles of his uniform are made out of]. My only complaint with this new version of Green Lantern is that they seem to making him out to be basically a arrogant, cocky poophead instead of just a cocky, arrogant pilot.

And, even though Aquaman may have the upper hand in this sequence, were the battle taking place in, let's say the Mojave Desert or in the airless void of space, Aquaman really wouldn't be of much use to them then, so I can see Hal's POV, too...

No because dumbass writers couldn't write a decent story with him they always have to have some kind of hook........although the mini series that Curt Swan did years ago was really good but it went under the Radar because of Batmania at the time.......

I think it's 'cos his power set is really specific, so it's pretty easy to come up with times when he wouldn't be really useful:

He's not really a wimp, but he's got a lot of workarounds if you're a bad guy.

I agree he doesnt get the respect he deserves. It would help if he was given an limited power over land animals to (like the beastmaster). I like that page. Its making me want to pick up the issue.

I always loved and respected Aquaman, after all he had his own cartoon in the 60's. Saying he's lame is just jumping on someone else's bandwagon of making fun of a character becuase of his weakness , and poor writing of some comic writers.

I think a better resolution to this sequence would be for Aquaman to pull out a yellow number 2 pencil and stick it in Green Lantern's eye.

I love Aquaman and think he's a fabulous, underrated hero but this scene seems really contrived to me.
