Having more than one villain's ALWAYS been distaste in superhero films, like the 90s Batman and Spidey franchises..
Quite simply, they DON'T WORK.
One antagonist, one protagonist, that's all. That's where the tension comes from.
Once you throw a second baddie in, it's lost and the movie's just busy and perhaps explosive, but you lose the creative, mental tension between two entities.
He looks like a reject from "V". If that is anywhere close to what the Lizard will look like, this will suck huge. This "reboot" is already near the bottom of most anticipated films for the summer of 2012. This shot might just finish it off. We may be looking at the first Spider-man film to bomb at the box office. For those who thought S3 did not do so well, think again. It made more money worldwide than either of the first two. Sony is insane.
Between the New Spidey movie and the New Batman movie, I am more on the fence about the new Batman movie with Catwoman and Bane being the main villians. It is a nice change to see Lizard.
From the looks of the previews, this movie looks more "grounded" than the Raimi films, so a scaled back Lizard kind of makes sense...but also goes against the nature of the character.
I'll hold out until seeing actual pics from the film, but I'm not impressed. You know Raimi would have went ape-crap with the Lizard.
