Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends now on Netflix instant watch

If you have Netflix instant watch, they've posted both the Spider-Man (1981) animated series and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends series. I just discovered both this morning while browsing stuff on my PS3.

I'm watching the solo series and although the first episode looks a bit muddled and dark, the later ones look close to dvd quality. I haven't checked out Amazing Friends yet but hopefully they'll be up to dvd standard as well.

I loved these shows when I was a kid and it's fun to watch them again after all these years. Now if they could just get the DC Superfriends library, Saturday mornings would be perfect again

While I don't have access to this, it's nice to know it's out there. The 81 solo series is a fond memory for me. Marvel packaged it in syndication with the 67 series, so you never knew which one you might see. I actually preferred it to Amazing Friends, which seemed a bit sillier at the time.

my only problem with the one from the 60's is the voice of peter/spiderman, lol spiderman and his amazing friends (to me) is a classic from when i was a kid. my favorite episode is Videoman

Same here, I think the 67 series for all its cheapness in the animation department had more heart to it and didn't seem like a by the numbers 70's or 80's cartoon like SPidey and friends did.

I love the 60s series, but the later episodes are 20 minutes of swinging around the city and 2 minutes of actual plot development. Someone was doing some serious acid on those later ones. The Orgin of Spider-Man is still my favorite version of the story however. Very faithful to the original comic.

Feel the same had had a cool vibe and an unbeatable theme song.....The opening credits still give me goosebumps.....when i read spiderman that's still the voice i hear.

I thought SAHAF the early episodes the animation was pretty sub par.....when they did the x-men episodes towards the end of the run the ice-man and Firestar origin the animation was pretty good....but that's it

Blame Ralph Bakshi he did some serious cost cutting when he came aboard...he eliminated most of Spidey's villains for generic villains......and overused stock footage and knock off Doors sounding music

I dig the 81' series but have a place in my heart for Amazing Friends too. As goofy as some of them were they did feature the first appearance of Wolverine in animated form along with the X-Men and Juggernaut.

I also dig the Hulk episode with Mysterio too. I'm a fan of the 67' series and the 90's show as well. I really hope they put up the Hulk series from 81' that ran along with Spidey/Amazing Friends. I know they're supposed to put up all the Marvel Superheroes 66' shows sometime this Fall but not sure on the date they're going up.
