"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix -

Superman Returns' SEQUEL may have been squelched; but there's another Superman film on the way. That's why I seem so sure: it's not about sales per se, it's about brand recognition. I doubt GL was chosen 'cos it was popular; more likely it was the most recognized name that the execs felt could be marketed. If this movie doesn't meet expectation (and it seems like any movie that opens internationally makes at least SOME money) they'll just retool it a tad and give us another origin next time.

I hope the don't do the origin again it's not necessary. The next movie needs to jump right into Sinestro's fall from grace and the formation of his yellow Lantern Corps. They need to focus on the the "galactic aspect" of the GL Corps. Big space battles between the yellow and Green Lanterns...with Hal and Sinestro being the ultimate symbols of good versus evil.
And spend very little time on Earth.sigpicComment

In hindsight, I wonder if they Hammond subplot should have been jettisoned entirely for long sequences of Hal training on Oa. It seems Hammond is definitely the weak link of the movie in just about everyone's opinion (including mine, and I really enjoyed the film). More time on Oa means more Corps, more Sinestro, more of what this movie did REALLY well.

I have never read any GL comics so dont know much of the back ground, the trailers looked good and the interviews on TV are making me want to go see the film and as most people said they enjoyed the film,so i think i will go see it as i don't normally do the cinemaalso its a good start for newbies like me to get into the GL universe.
