I think H.E.A.T. may have been responsible for then GL scribe Ron Marz receiving death threats but I'm not sure....

I love how half of the comments listed in the original post come off a racist themselves, not to mention ignorant. Let's see, four instances of censored (I'm assuming) profanity, "yo they trippin", "they played us", "they turn him white", "XXXXX suppose 2 be black", "the original GL was a black dude".

OH NOES!! THE WHITE DEVIL DONE STRUCK AGAIN!!

          So typical...

I was really apprehensive when Justice League used Stewart instead of the already established in the "Timm Verse" Kyle. However, the show did such good things with Stewart it was hard to see another character in his place, he was great.

Also loved Kyle in the Morrison JLA run, his relationship with Wally West really worked.

In terms of a movie though, IMO no Lantern has left a bigger footprint into the public's mind than Hal Jordon.

              Great idea.
depends on how big of a name they cast in the sucessive films. If they did it well in the first it might not matter who the later Gl's are if the scripts and effects are good. That's what they tried with the batman franchise after keaton left - except they forgot about the good script part and tried to use bigger 2nd tier names for the leads

I have to wonder how many kids will see the movie and think "Hey. Where's the red headed guy that hangs out with Batman in the cartoon?"
