Not all love Dark Knight Returns. It was ok, and I liked the Joker portrayal, but I dont like Bale as Batman, or the chubby cheeks Bat cowl design....amongst other issues.

There should only be one Batman in the comics. ONE. fifty billion wannabes doesnt cut it for me, and really waters down the whole Bat mystique.

Heck, I'm not happy with all the Robins currently running around either.

He wasn't talking about the Bale movie. He's refering to Frank Miller's Batman The Dark Kight returns... the ending where Bruce takes Carrie and the mutant gang into hiding and says he's going to train them.

Of course we do see where that led with the Dark Knight Strikes Again sequel.

Here is my thing...

Batman eluded to doing this in Dark Knight Returns. I don´t know why all of you hate THIS but love THAT story?

Any love I had a one point for "The Dark Knight Returns" grows less and less as time goes by....And here's the thing....that was an alternate reality/future, Elseworlds type of story...not something that is part of current continuity and will effect stories for the next several years....

Never cared for that comic story either for what its worth. I always thought it was over the top, and it helped bring in what I refer to as the Insane Batman era.

Hearing DC's plans for BATMAN just reminded me why i stoped buy current issues of any title, the money i save i buy silver and bronze age books and i now enjoy reading comics agian
