Still picking it up, my opinions basically unchanged from earlier posts. With the exception that I'm liking the John Carter-Adam Strange strip more (I actually would consider buying this as a regular series, even so far removed from Classic Adam). And I find I like the Metamorpho strip less as it goes along- seems way too full of "aren't we just so hip & cool you gotta love us" attitude from Gaimen & Allred.

Has anyone actually been reading the Wonder Woman page because I cannot. If so can you supply a brief rundown of what is supposed to be going on?

Best art remains on the Metal Men strip. The Hawkman page is getting better, Kamandi remains solid, Flash is pretty neat. Sgt Rock & GL settled into a semi-meh state but they still look pretty. Interestingly, the Superman & Batman strips are pretty basic stuff, nothing really that wonderful going on. Teen Titans is just poorly done, as is the aforementioned WW. I would like to see this concept continue on though, it's really something worthwhile I think.

I've bought it every week. Still enjoying the parts of it that I initially liked.

The owner of the comics shop I go to told me that it looks like DC will bring the format back at some point. Don't know if it will be a regular thing, but the interest is there to do this all again. Supposedly, there were some back up stories done in case deadlines weren't met. Since it looks like they won't have to be used in this run, they will be published in a future run of Wednesday Comics.

Still loving it. The Flash strip has really moved up the rankings for me. The last two issues have been fantastic. Sook's work on Kamandi has slipped a bit over the last two issues, It's still beautiful, just not as clean as it had been. Regarding Metal Men, I don't like the story, but it's the best example of how good old school super-hero comic art can be. Well done JGL & Kevin Nowlan. Love Metamorpho! My favorite is still Adam Strange. I too would love to see an ongoing title using this take on the characters.

Yeah, Wonder Woman is totally unreadable, the Superman one doesn't fit artwise to the project. Titans is just awful.

The WW strip is essentially an origin story. Young WW on a quest to gather the 7 Amazon stars (?) is really a quest for young Diana gathering the different parts of her costume. I will agree that the first few issues were difficult. However, once the coloring problems were fixed it's been much better.

I'm not a fan of bumping up the resolution and coloring over the artists pencils. The only book I've liked that does this is Cary Nords Conan. The strip would be much better if an inker like Buzz was on it.

I'm up to issue 4 so far (still have up through 9 in my pile to read). Since I get my books in the mail I tend to fall behind the "latest and greatest" being talked about and go back later and read threads like these (to avoid spoilers).
                My assessment so far:

Batman strip is good. I haven't liked Batman in quite awhile but this is readable.

Kamandi? AWESOME!!!!!!...My only complaint (besides only ONE page) is the Prince Valiant type of narrated storytelling. I prefer word balloons as they make me feel more of a part of the story rather than someone TELLING me a story. Besides that it's PERFECT!!!!! I hope this leads to a resurrected Kamandi book. I'm ready for issue #60!!

Metamorpho...cool! Love the art and story so far but what a waste with the one-panel splash pages..let's move the story along!

Hawkman...good. Shocked that this is Kyle Baker. I thought he drew like that Plastic Man series.

Sgt Rock. KUBERT!!!! Great so far. Classic DC!!

                Demon/Catwoman....not bad, interesting so far.

Metal Men...YES!!!!! Garcia-Lopez is my comics god!!!!! The CLASSIC MM!!!!! This is easily in the top 4 of my faves in this title.

Deadman...one of my favorite characters. Glad to see the REAL one back and not Mr Bones! Seems to be heading in an odd direction. We'll see what happens in the next issue.

Superman...well I love Superman. This is an odd story though. Almost seems like it doesn't fit this book but ya gotta have a Superman in here. Perhaps a classic artist could do the next Superman story?

Flash...love the time-travel paradox thing going on! It's great! Barry and Flash in an adventure together! LOL!! Don't quite get the Iris-is-leaving-Barry thing.

Supergirl...GREAT!!! My only complaint is Supergirl was so screwed up for so long and they just got her on a good track that I hate to see another version pop up again. Great though!!

Strange Adventures...I always liked Adam Strange's costume more than the character. This is ok. Not crazy about the art but the story is actually interesting. Plus they changed up the look of all the characters so can't even enjoy the costume, LOL!

Green Lantern...Hal Jordan is one of my faves too. This is interesting since it's obviously set in the original time period when Hal first appeared (50's/60's). So far, so good.

Teen Titans....BLECCCCCHH!! Who approved this garbage?? Someone tell the artist that people have NOSES. Horrible art. Can't even tell who's who sometimes.
I read it but don't enjoy it.

Wonder Woman....is this Wonder Woman??????? This is hands-down the WORST strip in this title. A complete WASTE of paper and ink. I can't even look at this strip anymore. Completely UNREADABLE!!!!!!

Overall I think the price is a killer. I agree with Johnny that it would be cool to have a more complete feel with a funny strip like Super-turtle or Caps Hobby Hints and even a puzzle. Plus an Answer Man section and maybe even a letter or two. Add two more sheets of paper (8 more pages) and keep the price the same and it'd be better.
Plus I'm not crazy about just one page a week but I guess that's the whole idea; to make it like the Sunday comics strips where you had to wait a week for the next part.

All in all a neat idea but I think it may be a bit gimmicky in the end and not be a long-term format.

I've tried....really I've tried.....but it's so much information overload on the page that I just can't process it and my brain turns to jelly. Seriously though....this strip SUCKS! I can't believe anyone green-light this. It's not even remotely like anything that has ever appeared in the Sunday funnies....

I'd like to see that.....heck we're sorta getting that from some of Gaiman's nonsense in Metamorpho but IMO it doesn't belong as part of a main strip.

Agreed....perhaps Jerry Ordway could do the art if this format and a Superman strip returns? I'd love to see an adaptation of Superman vs. Funny Face. That'd be perfect for something like this.

I know what you mean, over 1/2 page of "chutes(snakes) & ladders" on the issue I'm up to now. Put that on the "Fun Page".

I was thinking more old school but I don't even know who's still alive and even if they are, if they're still drawing.
All the BIG guys are dead as far as I know: Swan, Schaffenberger, Boring. Is Plastino still around? There was another prolific Superman artist with those 4 but the name is escaping me right now. Adams would be awesome too. Adams, Ordway, Garcia-Lopez, Giordano all do a great Superman.

I was just thinking that I wish it was on the front page instead on page 2, LOL.
I wouldn't have even picked up more than the frist issue if Kamandi wasn't solicited as being a part of this.
I'd even buy the new book if they did it the Prince Valiant way like they are now but I prefer word balloons.
