I'm not sure if you guys in the US have a long weekend or not, but I'm wondering if July 4th will shift shipping to Thursday this week? I know New Comic Day was Thursday for us this week because of Canada Day.

^^^ Nope, it won't affect Monday's mailings. We only don't get delivery on the 4th.

Actually it doesn't matter to me since I don't have a local comic shop.

REALLY?! It's funny...when I was planning to move to Florida, the first thing I did was use "Comic Shop Locator"...to help me decide which Area I wanted to live in.

There were two here that closed up about a year ago. The closest now is Lakeland and its a pretty bad store.

I usually avoid the comic shop on Wednesday because of the unwashed masses that seem to troll there waiting for the new books....normally I go on Saturday. But I may brave it this Wednesday because I'm dying to see this book.

                      I will admit...THIS WAS GREAT!
Comments in order of the appearances:
                      #1-BATMAN...looks great, story looks interesting.
#2-KAMANDI...easily the best thing about the book. Love the Foster riff!
#3-SUPERMAN...I'll reserve judgement until it progresses further. Nice art but the coloring is terrible, very muddy.
#4-DEADMAN...Nice to see Boston Brand classic, not that skeletal thing they've been using.
#5- GREEN LANTERN...set in the New Frontier early sixties era, cool use of the logo, looking forward to more!
#6- METAMORPHO... This is a close second to being the best of the issue. Classic Element Man, all the players as they were originally, and a promise of Element Girl! YAY!
#7- TEEN TITANS...meh. Not interesting, weird art. ALMOST the worst part of the book.
#8- STRANGE ADVENTURES...While not a big fan of Paul Pope's stuff, this version is way cool, a mix of classic Adam Strange with John Carter of Mars thrown in. Easily better than the disfunctional crap DC's done to Adam in recent years.
#9- SUPERGIRL... Amanda Conner, what's not to love. She's one of my favorite artists. Plus Krypto & Streaky!
                      #10-METAL MEN...Garcia-Lopez art!!!!! It's a winner!
#11-WONDER WOMAN...remember how I said Teen Titans was ALMOST the worst thing in the book? That's because this feature is the WORST. Bad art, incomprehensible story, even a goofy logo. Who thought this was the way to portray a member of DC's vaunted trinity?
                      #12- SGT ROCK..Kubert & Kubert. 'Nuff said!
#13- The FLASH...Good stuff, nice art, the Mary Worth inspired Iris West piece was truly neat.
#14- DEMON & CATWOMAN...looks great, very interesting story, looking forward to more.
#15- HAWKMAN...good stuff, again waiting to see where it goes.

Overall, a very nice piece of work and well worth the cover price. The only thing I could really have added was to see for a few more features: a couple classic funny strips such as Sugar & Spike (Captain Carrot or Fox & Crow) and a Western piece (and oddly, I'd have preferred seeing a hero like Johnny Thunder as opposed to Jonah Hex). And a puzzle page!
That would have completed the classic newspaper feel.

Why can't all of DC have this kind of energy?

^ For the most part, I agree with your assessment of the issue.

My take, in order of favorites (not appearance):

                        #1- Batman
(I like the modern update of the classic logo. And I understand the controversy with Bob Kane but could his "Created by.." byline have been any smaller. )

                        #2- Metamorpho
(I've been on a Metamorpho kick lately and this stuff is GOLD!)

                        #3- Metal Men
(And speaking of Gold....I love the Garcia-Lopez art but excuse me if I'm skeptical on DiDio's writing. Nevertheless, the JLGL art more than makes up for any shortcomings Didio may have as a scripter.)

                        #4- Kamandi
(Yeah the Hal Foster riff is fan-freakin'-tastic!)

                        #5- Deadman
(Agreed...I'm glad they ditched the Kelley Jones skeletal version for someone with a little meat on his bones)

                        #6- Sgt. Rock
(How can you go wrong with All-Kubert? You can't!)

                        #7- The Flash/Iris Allen
(I'm intrigued to see how these two strips will finally mesh up with each other...)

                        #8- Demon/Catwoman
                        (A caper! I'm in!)

                        #9- Green Lantern
(I'm digging the vintage vibe this one has....quite frankly MANY of the strips have a great style about them)

                        #10- Hawkman
(A little light on the first outing but the artwork is gorgeous! Most of the time I think of Kyle Baker as a humor artist)

                        #11- Supergirl
(Palmiotti and Conner are a great team IMO)

                        #12- Strange Adventures
(Not crazy about the art so far on this one but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.....it's Adam Strange!)

                        #13- Superman
(Bleech! What the heck is this? Easily the worst of the bunch.....)

                        #14- Teen Titans
(No wait....THIS is the worst of the bunch....)

                        #15- Wonder Woman
(Uggh...scratch that....THIS piece of crap is undoubtable the worst of the entire issue. I'm not even willing to attempt to decipher what the frig is going on with this page. Artwork=crap, lettering=crap, and I'm assuming...the writing=crap as well. No wonder no one seems to give two cents about Wonder Woman...not when the come up with garbage like this in a high-profile package like Wednesday Comics. Again......uggh! )

Looking forward to getting this, it will be afew weeks, so I will get several issues at once. Really digging the stuff I've seen online so far. Paul Pope's Adam Strange (his Batman Year 100 was one of my favorite Batman stories of the last few years) and Kyle Baker's Hawkman are the two I am loking forward to the most.
