I'm there for Plaid Lanterns!! All Scotsmen Corps!!! The thing about all the other lanterns that bugs me is its just a riff on the GL Corps, and it was better when there was one renegade GL, Sinestro. Now he's got a squad of Yellow Lanterns, and there's the red guys and so on. Sort of feels like its just the same thing again and again. And I have read some of Johns GL stuff and it didn't do much for me.

      I think that's what I said.

If you don't like it , don't buy it
      I won't.

I'm just alittle confused by some of the posting ,.. as far as if someone doesn't like something because of the concept ,.. or because they bought a few issues & didn't like it cool,.. I just feel it's a bit nieve to talk negative about something & or bash it, if someone has no idea whats going on.
I've been reading comics for about 38 years. I think I know what to expect most of the time.

& BTW... the Red Lantern THING is only a 4 issue arc, to introduce them. Everything is a Lead up to the Final chapter,.. "The Blackest Night" .
My point exactly. EVERYTHING is leading up to some big story for the past 4 years (or maybe more). Nothing ever ends. Nothing ever becomes of it. Nothing ever gets addressed that they say these series are supposed to change. I'm tired of getting jerked around. Comics aren't a buck anymore. It cost over $100 to read a story like 52 or Countdown. For what? Nothing has really changed that much.

I am sure if one was picking up those beloved back issues of Green Lantern,..because everything "sucks" today, they have heard this phrase before.
I have every Green Lantern issue (except for most of the dreadful Kyle Rayner era) back to the Neal Adams era and some even before that so I'm a HUGE GL fan.
That says a lot when I am about this close to actually dropping the title when I was one of the most vociferous voices to bring Hal back.
I love what Geoff Johns has done with the JSA & Superman (that Brainiac arc was the best Superman story I have read in I don't know how long) but I'm just not going to get suckered into another nowhere story arc. I may buy GL still when Blackest Night comes out but I'm not even sure about that at this point.

So, in Johns's Flash run are we going to see lots of Flash dopplegangers?

Bought about Half of 52,.. Dropped it , after I figured out nothing was really going on,.. & realized it was just some lame Marketing Strategy that lead no where... as for Countdown,.. I refused to buy. I dunno what Happened, Don't think I missed much.

Just a head's up, I read some reviews and comments on this issue over at Newsarama, and some of the posters were commenting that Morrison has stated that RIP was just the warm-up for Batman's final fate in Final Crisis. If that's the case, Bruce may not be out of the woods yet. Of course FC is so delayed and beleaguered, who knows how it will come out. The original plans may be long gone, as rumors of heavy rewrites are everywhere.

^ See to me that just doesn't make a lot of sense....to entitle an arc "Batman R.I.P." in his own book and then actually do the deed in another mini-series, especially one that has experienced many delays and rewrites as Chris has pointed out. It's almost like "R.I.P." was totally unnecessary, as I'm sure Batman's demise in "Final Crisis" will more the result of Darkseid's plans than those of The Black Glove.

Someone will die. Most issues will be late. The last issue will be super late cuz it will have to be rewritten when fans complain about rumors. The end will be an unsatisfying anti-climax that leads into the next year's "Big Event".

Yet I'm the one who's close-minded for deciding ahead of time not to get suckered into this one?

Heck I even read the first 5 or 6 issues of Trinity before I smelled a rat. Dropped that quick.
Make you a deal. I will buy the first issue of Blackest Night but none of the umpteen crossovers or specials (maybe not even the Superman ones assuming there are any) and if it seems good maybe I'll try it but I'm tired of less and less bang for my buck with comics. Rumor is prices are going up again, too!

... Perhaps someone will Die,.. I'll give you that. My Money's on Stewart, or the Guardians. I don't think the story will be re-written, or delayed,.. rebirth wasn't nore was the Sinestro's Corps. & I believe the 2 previous Green Lantern "Massive Story's" never had a lead up to anything,.. Just closeure,.. so I expect the Same... a Damn good Story.

Here's an idea...kill the writers. Just kidding... Interesting that they would pull the plug so quickly. I agree, DC must have gotten a flood of hate mail over this story. Of course in retrospect it seemed like a dumb idea to start with. I mean, you have a billion dollar movie in theaters and your wanting to kill the character in the comics? Yeah right...

                      Three words:
                      Death of Superman

I've missed Superman since he was killed by Doomsday 15 years ago. Imagine what comics would be like if Superman were still alive?

As the creator of this thread, I am putting my 2 cents in.
In the words of classic Spock "Facinating" all your comments are this.
I admit, RIP was just thar a rip(off) and it ended leaving on confused, and
not knowing what it was about. Trinity, good art, story streched out perhaps
way to much, would have been better to make it a few intertwined stories. final crisis, should never have been made, serves no real purpose and its just a plain mess.
However red Lantern is coming along to be a great story.

So.... in essence the whole thing was an AD for another book?

                            Batman RIP.

                            FREAKIN LOVED IT!
Supposed confusion aside, Morrison has taken all of Batman continuity and vilidated it. BRILLIANT! And in the end, Morrison showed us Batman at his core. Unstoppable & indominatable.
                            Hey! Check out the pictures.
