I think the real reason, is that in the US, Disney owns the rights to all the Marvel cartoons from the 60s through the 90s. Saban was producing Marvel toons in the 90s and bought all the rights to every toon thus far, and then Disney bought Saban. Disney, for whatever reason, just doesn't care to release the toons on DVD. They did the Spidey 67 box set, and even announced the 66 Marvel Super Heroes series in a box set, but pulled the plug. It's probably a case of Disney making so much money on their own properties on DVD that they just can't be bothered with the paltry money that the old Marvel shows would bring in.

I loved this on saturday mornings. My two Favorite episodes of the series was Firestars and Iceman's origin. The animation was more anime style and had the X-men in it.

Yeah and Cyclops sounded like a major dork on the Firestar episode too. Whenever we hear the word "juggernaut" my wife and I mimic Cyclop's delivery of that line. It's classically bad.

One of my all-time favorites. I had a thing for Firestar when I was a kid.

I'd put money it's a problem with Sunbow. They must own the rights to some of the key music in the series. This was the same problem with the Dungens & Dragons cartoon. They got around this by replacing some of the key music. Found this out when I bought the DVD. It was forsale many years in England first and the music was intact on that DVD release. I taped D&D on it's first run on regular Saturday morning TV back in the 80's. I had those to compare by.

Alittle 411: everyone knows that the voice of Firestar is Cissy from the tv series Family Affair didn't they?

When the box set comes out, I will purchase it. I have a multi-region DVD player too.

I can only agree with you in terms of Marvel Cartoons. While I am more of a DC fan and my fandom is with the SuperFriends, I will say that of all the Marvel cartoons of the Saturday morning era, I feel that SpiderMan and His Amazing Friends and the Incredible Hulk were two of the best. I feel that Dan Gilvezan is the best voice I ever heard for the animated SpiderMan and my favorite. I also loved Firestar and Iceman. I too wish this series would come to DVD as a complete series. I also loved "Seven Little Super Heroes" as well as the origins of all 3 heroes as well as the origin of the SpiderFriends. While I did not like the portrayal of Bruce Banner and the Hulk on the "Spidey" Goes Hollywood" episode, I loved the animated series of 1982.
I fondly recall when the series was "The Incredible Hulk and the Amazing SpiderMan" in 1982. And I also recall getting up early in 1984 to watch these two shows on NBC in the 7:00 hour before flipping over to ABC to watch the SuperFriends at 8:00.
                  Cheers.

I should be getting the complete series within the next 2 - 3 weeks (the complete series box set comes out in the UK next week) if anyone will be interested. Message me if you are interested. BTW, Silver Surfer cartoon series is set for DVD release early next year in the UK.

I really enjoyed this series in the 80's but when they reran it a few years back I couldn't believe how overpowering the music was, my goodness.

I own the complete box set. It would seem that this company Jetix is releasing every Marvel cartoon going.
