The average store goer has never even seen an EMCE fig, unless they happen to be strolling through one of the few mainstream stores (FYE, Hastings) that actually carries Diamond product.

I'd add Toys R Us to that; I saw a couple of Kirk/Spock Diamond Select 7 inch Art Asylum-type figure sets there just a few days ago. On the back of the packages were other DS product, including the EMCE retro figures (I think Uhura and Mugato are pictured).

I guess it's good they're getting some exposure in a huge chain like TRU, even if it's only a picture.

my feeling is that these days, with the internet, chat boards, ebay, etc...even the most casual collector knows about the retro re-releases... sure, without "big box" exposure, one is not going to attract the "impulse/non collector" base, or the kid that wants to play Star Trek (like I did when I was 9), but that is really not to whom these figures are produced anyway...

Does anyone know if these will be packaged in a nice pretty box like the origonals? or just shipped as is in a box they just stuff it into to get it where it needs to go?

I'm sure it'll come in packaging similar to the original, just like the other EMCE/DST offerings.

The Toy Fair pics showed a box that was pretty much a replica of the original.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

wow, $59.99...I wonder how they can charge so much and actually sell them, when there are a myriad of folks like me, selling in the $45-50 range?
in any event, we got 40% of our order today, and the balance should be here by week's end, so also not sure why they are listing may, except that we are only 2 days from may lol ?

Do you have some now to sell, or do you have to wait until the end of week for extra add ons?
I may just cancel my EE preorder and get it from you.

How it usually works with Rick is when he receives the shipment and starts processing pre-orders, he'll open up the item again to in-stock ordering. He always orders extra just in case, and that's what ends up as in-stock.

                              Here's the direct link:

                              http://newforcecomics.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=retro

Check it daily, and I'm sure Rick will let folks know when it's opened again for ordering.
