Here you go. my only suggestion is to add a full body suit AKA Tarzan or WGSH Super gals style for the arms and legs. I think it would fit in better MEGO style.

Ya know...that's not a bad Idea! Especially if You added some Cast-A-Way LJN style Arms underneath the Body Suit(the Suit should at least cover His upper half, the bottom has new Sculpts), to bulk Him up a bit! Good call!
Gee thanks! Although I didn't do the guantlets, I did the suit. I looked all over the place for material that even closely resembled the Gorn material for the proto. None could be found, so we went with that. I do appreciate constructive comments though, so wouldn't mind hearing what else you don't like about the outfit. Crappy and cheap don't really offer suggestions for improvement.
Hey Dave,
I have examined the original Gorn Screen Used Costume and can tell you it's Gold Lame that has the pattern stenciled on.
Feel free to email me if you have questions, I'd love to help.

I personally was not crazy with the naked Conan figure they did, it looked off compared to the rest of the line.....
Re: Show Accurate: This is Mego-style, not Sideshow Collectibles. I think this is actually a beautiful Mego style interpretation of the TV character.
Exactly, I don't want show accurate. I want Mego accurate.
I want figures that fit in with the original line and look like something Mego could of have done in the 70s. The EMCE Gorn looks like I would imagine Mego could have done had they given the character the care they did figures like the Andorian and Romulan.
The head looks nice, still not very show acurate, but it will do. The outfit looks way to crappy and cheap. I dont think Mego would have gone so cheap if they would have done it show acurate. The body needs to go, it looks way to thin and does distract from the over alll image of the figure. The mego company invested in new molds when the need arose. EMCE perhaps needs to invest a little more $$$ perhaps the cost will be a few $$$ more to us, but it would move the product better and give us a better figure. Seems like EMCE has had a decent start with their figures, however, this one seems to not be one of their best. Maybe, Once I see the finished product, it will be a different story. Time shall tell.

Re: The Mego company invested in new molds: Hello, the Mego company sold MILLIONS of figures. They produced them in massive quantities and sent big cases of them to major stores all over the country. This is a small company selling to a small niche market. Producing an entirely new body mold for one character would be foolish. And in this case, uneccessary.
The only thing that would top it off is if EMCE went with fabric sleeves and legs, AKA WGSH style instead of going sleeveless then i would totally fit in with the Mego world.

I thought the same thing. Uh oh I must be a butt kiss too. I would like to see how it looks with a green body suit AKA Tarzan, to hide the elbow and knee joints. I will when I get one. The scale suit might look OK also, might be a little light colored, but I think a dark green body suit would fit the bill. BTW I think ya did a great job on the proto suit Dave. Damn I'm a butt kiss again!! I gotta go gargle!!

I echo that Doc fantastic interpretation using James's headsculpt. And I am sure that those who have their brady custom are happy that this is not a duplicate so they can have more different style gorns for their displays( I know I like having lots of different klingon (bearded) and romulan (elf type) heads
The more we support these cool figures, the closer we are to getting figures Mego didn't make or way better versions (like the Gorn)
And also, the more clout Paul and Co. get, dare we dream? (DARE! DARE!)
