New Spidey set coming?

I'd put up with a crappy costume, if it meant getting two cool ones in the sets!
I'm on board with a multi-Spider-man set, whichever three they choose. I dig Spider-verse, Ultimate Spider-Man Webbed Warriors and the Shattered Dimensions video game. There is room in my heart for all the Spider-Men. Noir, Ham, 2099, Ultimate/Miles, Superior, Iron, i'll take 'em all for as long and as they want to make them.Leave a comment:

I agree totally!
I'll never get used to Miles Morales or his costume. I'm sorry, but he was created solely as a race pandering token character, and IMO anybody who believes otherwise is in denial. I can absolutely guarantee there was a business discussion regarding racial demographics and how they could boost sales by making a new black Spider-Man.
I'm all for diversity, but dammit, come up with something ORIGINAL. Don't just reassign a pre-existing popular character. That's a cop-out IMO. It shows they are afraid of trying to come up with an all-new original ethnic character for fear it will fail, so they play it totally safe. The last really cool original black character I remember is Cardiac. I thought he was great, and very original. I also loved his costume, but he doesn't get much exposure.
I would really love to see some all new black/female/etc. superheroes get their own series. New powers, new costumes...something we haven't seen before.
Marvel is supposed to be the "House of Ideas"...so show us some NEW ones!
The only alternate Spider-Man I ever fully embraced was Miguel O'hara. I love that character, because he was truly different, and that costume design ROCKS.
Also, I'd like to say that I'm not just picking on Miles...I really don't like this whole Spider-Verse thing, as I feel it dilutes the character, just like there are way too many Hulks these days.Leave a comment:

I thought the Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider Sweat Shirt suit sucked. The later re-imagined suitIt does suck. It looks like some 90's crappy costume. With the whole v down the front with no reason like so many other costumes. No originality. It's a sham of a Spider-man. Do you want a list of the costumes it looks like? And the different colored fingers in the gloves? Stupid. It looks dumb, so I think it sucks.
( which has the same type of gloves Miles' suit has ) I did like.
Either way, characters change to sell comics. Don't like it don't buy the comic.
I thought Hal Jordan was the ONLY green lantern until i discovered Alan Scott,
and then I changed my mind. We each have our favorites.
I like Hal and Alan & John, I like Bruce and AzBats, I like Peter and Miles.
YMMV.Leave a comment:

Also Peter Parker IS Spider-Man, but, like it or not so is Miles Morales, and as a curmudgeon who likes his era better, I must admit this IS a good thing. There is room for both characters.Leave a comment:

Huge, HUGE Romita Sr. fan, the definitive Spider-Man to me (apologies to Ditko, my 2nd favorite Spidey artist). But I think the Miles suit is visually a great look! A great mix between the original and the black suit. The red just pops.Leave a comment:

The only thing that sucks is your ability to distinguish your preference from fact, dude. It's fair to say that you think it sucks but you can't win a preference argument.Leave a comment:

I like the Morales suit quite a bit, actually. Like CrimsonGhost said, it's reminiscent of Spidey's other outfits (Ditko era red & black, symbiote suit, Alex Ross' redesign, etc.), and seems to pull together the best elements of each into a nice cohesive design. It's sleek, offers great camouflage at night, looks great in action poses - it's a winner to me.
Nothing will ever beat the classic Spidey suit, as that's a terrific design that really needs no tweaking, but the Morales suit makes for a great runner-up. Same for the character - Peter Parker IS Spider-Man, no question, noting will ever change that, but having Miles Morales around is a breath of fresh air. Marvel's playing it smart - classic Spidey's coming into his own and is still in his prime in the books, while Miles' Spidey is starting his own journey. Exciting times, folks!
Count me in for putting the Morales suit in the upcoming Spidey 2099 set!Leave a comment:

I don't get the hatred for Miles Morales' costume. The thing looks cool and it's actually different. They've already made Peter Parker and many varients on that theme.
Marvel says there's more than one Spiderman, so there's more than one Spiderman. it's not 1970 anymore. A little change isn't gonna hurt anybody.Leave a comment:
