I just worry that the exposure isn't great enough to get these into the right hands. I will buy a set just to keep the "collect 'em all" theme going, but I wouldn't ever get a different format of Deadpool. I'm not into the character, but the figures look super!

There are no discussions on other forums about remegos (that I can find ) except here, but there are tons of forums on action figures. There might be collectors in 20-30's buying these but Hasbro, and Mattel, must not think so or we would see these in Wallmart, Target etc.Comment

I liked what I saw. The "retro" Deadpool had a very clean look. Really nailed the 1970s simplicity that a Mego Deadpool would have had.
The modern version with all of the options/accessories was insane. I hope Punisher is done same way, with a Romita-ish classic head and modern version with all of the bells and whistles seen in Deadpool box.Comment

If we were trying to get these into Walmart or Target, with Walmart and Target-size order numbers, it would be a different situation. We're only making 3,000 for comic shops and specialty stores. Compared to Marvel Legends, or even Marvel Select, the number of collectors is expected to be much smaller, so you won't see as many forums, but this forum does not represent the entirety of people who buy Retro figures. Even if it has a representative sampling, and DOESN'T skew towards the old-school fans, I'm still seeing at least a 50-50 split on people who want this set.Comment

This SDCC news has renewed my interest and hope for the Mego Marvel sets! It was enough to see Deadpool set but to hear about Punisher, Spidey 2099 (and maybe black costume!), and Daredevil who has Netflix TV series Punisher will be appearing on!
DSTZach can you answer a few questions?
Is a FEMALE set coming- Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Invisible Girl, Jean Grey, Storm, Elektra all appearing in live-action!
Villian- Dr Doom, Green Goblin, Loki, Magneto, Red Skull, Lizard appeared or are appearing in live-action!
Fantastic 4- Movie in August will original 4 Mego figures be reproduced?
And of course there's always room for more Avengers (Iron Man, Hulk) and X-Men (Cyclops, Gambit) who have movies to support them! Thanks!Comment

Deadpool wasn't really a part of the original Secret Wars line either, but folks have generally been really positive about this one 12" Gentle Giant, and most of the variant covers with Modern characters as well.

So Daredevil is in this wave with Punisher. Deadpool is good and I'll pick one up but DD, and Punisher, are Marvel Classics . Thank You !

Wow! I'm really excited for all the announced figures! I have all the original Mego WGSH, so I'm glad to see new characters being developed that Mego never made (some of which didn't even exist back then).Comment

I am not aware of any FF, female or villain sets in the works, but I do not know how concrete our plans are beyond the four shown on the new box.
