I can sympathize with ya Lonnie - that sounds like a lot of flaws.
I wonder if parts just aren't available (without breaking open a box and just parting it out).
If they only made 3000, the factory is probably done and on to the next figure.

When Spidey hit $53 shipped on Amazon, we jumped - and were glad to.
Yea, our Parker has the pinholes in the suit from his staples, but meh...once he’s dressed I don’t see them.
Not to overlook - but you are parting these sets out, which is perfectly fine - no objections here, and you are making money, even if it is a little.
If $69 was the set price, anything over $23 per figure is profit.
In your case, it’s a problem that you can’t move some inventory because of defective parts...man...that’s a lot of dough to invest, so I feel ya.
Worse case, if DS can’t replace the flawed parts, you can still part it all out and eventually recoup your original investment.
Some day - since only 3000 each were made...I’d have to think we will see prices inflate just like some of the Trek line did, just like some of the Universal Monsters did, and so on and so on...
It’s such a dilemma when something comes messed up...and this lineup needs to continue because after Thor, the next figure is going to be very anticipated (MM attendees got a hint).
EMCE/Diamond Select need to focus on some of these issues, keep sales going because I do not want to see the Marvel license recalled until several figures get their day.
These sets aren't $69, because the shipping isn't free. I added original Mego bodies to some of the outfits and lost money there. So, no, I haven't made profit. I also have four Peter Parker figures nobody wanted, a flawed repro Cap, Steve Rogers, a bunch of Logan and Wolverines. I'm hundreds in the hole. I've sold some Logan outfits, but nobody wants anything with a Logan head. I put the Logan head on the brown/orange outfit and nobody wanted it. I did the same with the yellow/blue outfit, and it didn't sell. I had to sell some original Mego figures to buy the sets, which I guess was a mistake.
I was trying to sell the figures for $30 plus shipping. I lost money shipping a few of them because the $5 or $6 I charged to ship wasn't enough.

Vendors still need to buy these for the line to continue...if they are not selling for them,they will drop it like a hat
I am not commenting on your delema specifically or making any judgements to fault or any of that, just an observation. I think this is one big issue with buying these type of figures online. Almost every figure I have ever bought since the early 70s had some sort of flaws. Runs in fabric, paint spots, paint around eyes that just were not quite right. But buying them at retail allowed you the ability to at least inspect which one you bought and try to get the best you could. Collectors cherry pick when they can. Buying online is just the luck of the draw.
I have a hard time with trying to determine which flaws are acceptible or which ones should be. If something breaks in the package or immediately out of package, thats obvious it needs replaced at the companies expense. If parts are missing, obviously they need replaced at the companies expense since you paid for all the parts. (FTC's tightly strung bodies and female broken bodies) I think those are obvious no matter if you are a 'customer' or a 'reseller'. Either way you paid for a product and you should recieve it. No matter what you are going to do with it. The company needs to recoup expenses from their manufacturer at that point.
Some things are just poor choices on the part of the company like stapling the clothes down on the Spiderman sets, Captain America's star or the ugly removable mask on Wolverine. (FTC giant noggins) On one hand, if you bought it retail and knew what you were getting I could see it argued that you knew what you were paying for. I would still give them negative feedback. On the otherhand, if you pre-ordered and received it without knowing the product was going to be poorly exectued, thats a little tougher. Especially if the prototypes looked ok. I guess thats a live and learn thing, maybe next time don't preorder and wait to see the final product reviewed. I stopped buying FTC stuff and didn't buy Wolverine, I am waiting to see final products from now on.
When it comes to paint spots, loose threads, bumps on rubber parts, creases in clothing, while it sucks, part of me thinks with buying action figures some of that is to be expected. How much? I don't know at what level it should be realistically acceptible. To a collector's eye, none of it would be, but again if we had a method by which to cherry pick like we used to at retail.. collectors would be happy and so would the kids that rip em open to play with.

I've only seen one in person to be able to purchase, and I bought it. The store I got it at didn't get the Captain America or Wolverine figures. So online is my option. It is all about quality control! Not being a "picky collector". The defective parts should NOT have been packaged. It's cheap garbage if it isn't quality...
An Ebay seller has the Spiderman set ( New in box )for 41.49 with free shipping today . I think collector's know that these sets will keep going down in price and you can get the whole set for a little more than Peter Parker loose for 30.00 plus shipping
It's been over a month since I was told they found some replacement Wolverine parts for me, but I still haven't received them. I wrote back inquiring about them, but have gotten no reply so far. I guess that the more product you buy, the less they appreciate your business. They have discouraged me from buying future sets to split up for all you who won't buy the sets because you only want one character. I bought so many sets, and got so many garbage parts it's very disheartening.
